I purchased this coconut chip substrate for one of my snake enclosures and have been very happy with it. The chips expanded well after hydration and provided a natural-looking substrate that holds moisture without becoming overly soggy. I appreciate that the pieces are a good size and don’t create excessive dust when handling or setting up the enclosure. My snake seems comfortable on it, and it has helped maintain humidity levels much better than some of the other substrates I’ve tried. Cleanup has also been simple since spot cleaning is easy and the substrate doesn’t break down quickly. Overall, this is a quality coconut chip substrate that works well for reptiles requiring moderate to higher humidity. I would definitely purchase it again for future enclosure setups.

This is the perfect substrate for my ball python. It holds moisture well and gives a surface that helps him when he is shedding. The brown coconut husk substrate swells up quite a bit with moisture, so a little goes a long way. I just add a few areas with peetmoss and he is a happy snake. Great value, and wonderful product. Ours quite durable and doesnt have a weird scent, not is it messy like some other substrate products.

This substrate is fantastic for our Ball Pythons! Holds humidity super well, easy to clean if they go #1 and #2, and it has a very good & natural smell to it. I was actually shocked by the amount of substrate we ended up with from just one package once it was all prepped for use, more than enough for a few months worth of regular enclosure cleanings & substrate swaps. I definitely won’t buy anything else from this point on.

Coconut chips are great. I like that it’s a lot packaged so small. I do wish that they were precut into smaller bricks or something as I don’t need the whole thing at once and when breaking it apart it just makes a huge mess.

This substrate is very nice! I use it for my ball python, and it has been holding up very well. It is super easy to prepare, and after adding it to the cage, the bottom layers stay wet while the top layer dries out, which is exactly what I need for my snake's environment. It almost fills the bottom 6 inches of a 120 gallon enclosure (I added 24 quarts of cypress mulch with the entire block of coconut chip to get the height I wanted). It doesn't have a very strong smell, which is also nice. Will definitely get this again!

I use this to make my own houseplant soil mix. I didn't think the smell was strong at all. It was very chunky as expected, and decompressed easily in water. The brick itself was only 8lbs dry, not 10 as advertised. I would have been upset at this if the 10lb brick had cost more than the 1lb 8 pack option. The 10lb brick only cost me $22 though, and the 8 pack is at $27 currently, so I'm happy.

This is a great alternative to reptichip, which is also great but for the price difference it's my new go to for bedding. It is more crushed and has more fibers but it seems softer and my animals don't hallow out a nest spot as much. Does everything you need from coco. PIC is reptichip and this side by side
