I installed it to my hitch receiver and fits perfectly. It saved me when I was rear-ended. Messed up the other car's grill. (Quit playing on your cell phone and pay attention to the road!) I only had a few scuffs in the shackle. The quality appears to be very good. I'd buy it again.

Item is very sturdy and seems to be well built. Problem is that there are multiple areas of paint missing from this brand new item. The box is well padded and didn't show any damage. I believe this is a quality control issue and the item was packed already damaged. My concern is that this open steel will lead to rust. I have submitted a replacement and will see how the paint is on the next one. EDIT: Replacement item arrived featuring damage to the finish. This is definitely heavy duty hardware. However if you remove the bow shackle to use a soft shackle, the edges of the eye are sharp and may cut into your shackle. Pig you use it as packaged, you will not be disappointed.

I've only had to use this once so far. Bought it for recovery when we're driving in the snow here in the PNW. Came across a stuck F-150. Stuck in a snow bank about three and a half feet deep. This hitch hooked up quick and worked perfect for the tow straps I had. My Silverado yanked him out of the bank with ease. Super solid piece of metal, I'm not sure that this wouldn't survive a nuclear blast. Very good quality. ... show more
