Installation as long as it is done following the manual. Quiet, efficient and easy to setup. To have good water pressure, use an expansion tank with a pressure regulator, this way it keeps the line with adequate and constant pressure and does not damage the machine. well built and compact compared to conventional boilers. Hot water quickly even from distant taps. I noticed a strong smell of gas in the exhaust, which is fair to say it has 93% efficiency. Installed this unit last week to replace an undersized regular water heater. So far it's been fantastic. I definitely advise using a professional trades person who is qualified to work with gas and plumbing. This is not a homeowner install due to the complexities of gas work and proper venting. bought this heater and installed it according to the installation manual. Turned it on and start using the hot water. This heater gave me code P1 and wouldn't heat up the water even though it was set to 120 C and subsequently to 140 C. Called service and we went through the diagnostics and the service technician and us couldn't find any problem and they said they will send a local plumber to diagnose the problem and hopefully fix it. Received an email from Rheem with the Plumber information. Called the plumber to setup an appointment and told him the heater gives P1 error message. He told me that P1 error is because of the aretor in the faucet because it is dirty and it is the homeowners responsibility to clean it and he doesn't need to come. I proceeded with opening bath tub that doesn't have anything and lots of water exits into the bath tub and still had the same issue. Called the Plumber back and told him about this and he said he will come the next day. He showed up the next day and without running any diagnostics he tried to sell me things that didn't have anything to do with the water flow (Code P1). I asked him to run diagnostics to locate the actual problem and the we can discuss his recommendations and he refused unless i agree with his upsales which i refused, because it had nothing to do with the actual problem reported by the heater "Code P1". I called the service again before I return the unit and they weren't able to help either. Finally, after trying my best and nothing anywhere I returned the Unit. Here an advise for Rheem: I have 46 years experience working for big corporations and service is the only interaction you have with your customers and you are really really really lacking in that!!!!!!!!!!! You need to investigate what happened here and correct the problems. You just lost a sale here and if you don't correct this you will lose a lot more!!!!! ... show more

Performs exactly as described. Our bedroom shares a wall with the garage where the water heater is installed so was concerned about noise but have not heard a thing. Kitchen is 50+ feet away and the water there heats up faster than the tank heater it replaced. I am thinking some of the other concerns that were posted may be due to poor installation?
