Rheem Prestige® RTGH-68DVLN-2 is a high efficiency condensing indoor natural gas tankless water heater designed for continuous hot water. Industry leading low flow activation with a minimum flow rate of .26GPM and minimum activation flow rate of .40GPM ensures hot water is received even in low demand situations. Ultra Low NOx burner meets SCAQMD rule requirements of safety with low emissions. While our exclusive Guardian Overheat Film Wrap prevents our units from reaching the dangerous temperatures others can. Add in our maintenance notification settings, self-diagnostic system and EcoNet enabled mobile app feature (additional kit available), buying the Rheem Prestige tankless water heater makes perfect sense. New 2” venting with band connections allow up to 150’ with a 3” PVC or 60’ with a 2” PVC pipe. Included are also a built-in condensate neutralizer, digital remote control and 10ft. of thermostat wire. Best if used with up to 3 bathrooms; .91UEF, 120,000BTU efficiency. Professional installation is required otherwise warranty void. Warranty: 12yr heat exchanger, 5 yr parts and 1 yr labor.

I purchased this water heater from Silver State Manuals as a returned/dented item. I had previously purchased an inexpensive unit from eBay and it was just total junk. I guess my first clue should have been when the shipping weight of the previous eBay unit was 29 pounds and the Rheem unit weighs in at 74 pounds. Installation was straightforward, but the control unit displayed an error and the unit would not start up. I contacted Rheem, and they were very helpful in troubleshooting and solving my issue. It seems the unit was in a locked status, probably due to being turned on before the venting was properly installed. The tech stated that happens a lot. Make sure you have it completely ready to go before you turn it on! I assume the previous purchaser must have done that and the unit locked. Seeing the dented case, that is probably why it was returned. The damage was all superficial, the internal frame and quality of the unit is great and nothing was damaged internally. After executing the reset procedure, the unit started right up and works perfectly! I was surprised at how quiet the unit is and it does heat up instantly. I believe I am going to be very pleased with this water heater and recommend you spend the money for a quality heater as the cheap models available just are not worth the headache! ... show more

Came damaged, looked internally ok, worked or for a couple months, but now it leaks. No way to get support after the sale. Good thing my old hot water tank was still hooked up. $1000 dollar boat anchor.

This is the second one of these we purchased. I have bought four tankless water heaters over the last 10 years. First one failed quickly from not being installed exactly as necessary to keep unit from destroying itself with corrosive condensation. Second one was a little undersized. Finally purchased this model that lasted for several years but learned my lesson about hard water and regular cleaning. We loved this one so much that we got it again, which made Installation much easier than first time. The ducting is very different from a tradition tank water heater and requires ducting for exhaust and intake of fresh air. It is so efficient that is uses pvc which is much easier to work with. It puts out lots of hot water. We can run 3 showers at once non stop and never run out of hot water. We installed a descaler on the incoming water side and could tell a difference in the particles that were previously clogging our showers and slowly damaging the heat exchanger in the tankless heater. We are seriously considering a water softener this time with the water heater to extend its life. ... show more

So there were limited reviews on this and wanted to throw mine out there as I know reviews are important especially expensive products like this. So I have a 1000SF house with a washer, dishwasher, kitchen sink, and 1 bathroom. I can't really say if all these were running at the same time whether the hot water would run out, but most people don't so there's that. I can say that it get's up to 120 degress max. It might get more. as I hadn't fully explored the system, but out of the box that's it's max. I believe it could go higher, just not sure. There is never a time using this that I run out of hot water, say using the shower. My girlfriend, she's so great haha has taken almost 50min showers and she put's it on almost all hot, barley any cold mix. So it last that long. Watch YouTube videos you would think that you would get hot water in 10 seconds or less but that's not the case. It creates hot water immediately from the unit, but that water has to travel the line. I didn't have much of a choice of where the unit was placed, hence it's far away from the bathroom and kitchen. I'd say it has to run 50LF+ of line. So it takes maybe a good 20 to 30 seconds before you get the hot water. Anyways, I think it's great and has saved a little on my bills. I have it placed in my crawlspace. as it is dug out, which is unconventional for a crawlspace, so it's almost like a basement, but of dirt. I have it drawing air inside there, and not outside the house. I have had no problems doing that, so I didn't have to drill a hole to route the pipe outside the house to draw air into the unit. ... show more

My son, who is a plumber installed this to replace an old tank heater. He had to do a lot of plumbing changes to to install it but that wasn't the fault of the heater, it was just necessary to make a professional instillation, hens the tree star for installation; this is NOT a DIY project! I didn't rate Teck Support because we didn't need to use them. That's plus for the heater. BTY, our gas bill dropped from over $50.00/mo to just a little over $10.00/mo If my calculations are corredt, the heater will pay for itself in less that 3 yrs ... show more

So far it is good. I installed it three weeks ago and it works very well. I did the install myself and it was not that bad. I did still have my old tank working so it was not a hurry job. It took me a few days to get it going. I did have to call the tech support because it came up with a code. They were awesome at walking me through the prosses and reset the unit.
