This is my fifth unit and my first using with propane gas. I have installed and used four other units with natural gas in my work place and thought of installing one for my house. I works very well, better than expected. I did notice I had to install a check valve on the inlet water line to avoid sudden starts when a faucet is closed quickly causing water hammer. The factory water temperature is perfect at 120 degrees. I did try higher but it was too hot. No change if flow rate from the electric water heater, but a huge change in the electric bill. This unit will pay for it self in a very short time. This unit is mounted outdoors with the controller mounted inside. The installation was very easy and has worked very well from the start. Code 11 none stop from the box. Some times it works but would throw code 11 if it sits idle. Never had this problem with any of the Rinnai water heater

Took about half a day to install it. We went out and bought a tall 23 gal. Propane tank. Got it filled for about $100. Now we will see how fast we go through the propane. We started with the temp at 120 degrees. Wasn't quite hot enough. We turned it up to 130 degrees and we are getting plenty of hot water! Doesn't take long for the water to get warm. But it's only a short distance from the Master bathroom. The 2nd bathroom takes a little longer. It's the guest bathroom, so not too concerned. The unit itself isn't too big. It's mounted to the house on the outside above where the old tank was. Actually looks very clean and nice. Hoping this continues to work perfectly for a very long time. :) ... show more

I owned a competitors it worked This is very nice technology Safe and very efficient I'm sold... One thing is the company parts department is lacking... I called to get the cover for pipes long wait time 55minutes got transferred to warehouse they said yes we have 450 in stock... Cool can I get one? Yes go online and place incart select buy... You think I didn't already try that? Anyways it said in-stock placed in cart than said no longer for sale. Called next day waited again long time the said I'd have to buy a whole install kit I didn't need said okay went to buy it and wouldn't you know it unavailable. I'm very understanding but this is just a cosmetic pipe cover for a brand new unit. What if it's a important part? Heater 5 stars customer service 1 star Could be a deal breaker for some But I've never called competitors customer service I'm sure it's just a similar run around Best heater I've owned ... show more

Great Units, I'd recommend them to anybody. This was a replacement for the first one I bought which was 11 years old and had performed perfectly. I'm sold on them, I don't know if a tankless heater is more efficient than a tank type water heater (cost less to operate per year). I install a circulator pump in line with it. This pump come on with a push of a button and pulls water out of the Hot water supply line and into the cold water supply. When the discharge of the hot water line reaches 85 degrees F it shuts the pump off. They are expensive. We live out in the country and are on a septic tank. The pump greatly reduces the amount of water that goes down the drain waiting on hot water. ... show more

piece of CRAP, i have installed three Rheem water heaters, this one lost me over 800.00 as we installed it an airbnb and it kept going out on us, so the gas company did their thing and that didn't work, plumber tried to help, nothing. so i had two cancellations and a bad review becasue of this wtr htr. I have had no issues with the other Rheem products, but this one was a nightmare. hoping to get my money back for it. ... show more
