Installed this to transition my water heating to gas for economy. This unit hung on the basement wall and didn't require an enclosure except for some sheet metal to encase the feed pipes. Original heater was left in place and valved off as a backup. This unit produces a nice flow of hot water that continues until you shut the water off. It takes a bit longer to heat up due to the gas startup and the added 12' of piping which is to be expected, but it is only about 5 to 10 seconds depending on which faucet is being used. It only runs when the water is turned on, so no tank heating is required. I think it is going to save me a noticeable amount on my electric bill even after the gas bill hits. ... show more

This water heater was defective straight out of the box. It sat for two months before I could have it installed therefore, I was unable to return it, even though it was brand new. I ended up having just to throw it in the trash. I would never buy this brand of water heater ever again or from Amazon ever again. ... show more

After about 10 years, the older model quit on us. This was a direct replacement. It came per-configured and worked right out of the gate. I would recommend using a certified plumber to install because you are dealing with GAS lines. You want to make sure things are done right.

We bought this for a customer and installed. They were very happy with the water heater. We did have a little trouble finding the correct cover for the pipes because that doesn’t come with it, but we eventually found it and the customer was very satisfied with the water heater.
