This tankless heater works very well. I ordered one for LP gas and received one for natural gas. I had to return it (didn't open the box) I then had to place a order for the same item and hoped they sent the right one. They did. Just be sure not to use a BBQ gas regulator. It won't work. It needs a larger regulator, like one for the house to supply the right amount of gas and pressure. ... show more

This will be my first Rheem tankless water heater. It is an in-house propane unit. It will be our third one. We live in a 2000 square foot home with two baths, a jacuzzi a dishwasher and laundry, but we are only two adults unless family are visiting. We have our own well. It takes a minute for shower water to get upstairs. So it is not hot on demand, but hot in a minute. Our unit has a reading of 8.4 gallons per minute which should make it possible to keep the water hot if two showers are going at once of the dishwasher or laundry are both running. My experience with the Rheem parts department has been very challenging. We needed a special vent 5 inch that runs through the outside wall. It is a venting tube within a tube. On tube is the intake vent for the propane heater, the second vent is the exhaust vent from the propane fumes. It is available from Home Depot and I really recommend you order it from them. We were over billed, had two parts sent and sent back one. To Reheems credit they warranties the parts. But it’s literally been days of phone calls to receive the part and as of this writing, we are still waiting. ... show more

I bought this Rheem tankless water heater to replace a 16 year old 40 gallon water heater in my garage. It was still working , but on its final days. I had toyed with the idea of a tankless water heater for some time. I decided to pull the trigger when I bought a new 2500 heavy duty Chevy truck that wouldn’t fit in the garage with the old water heater in it. My plumber loved the new one and had no trouble installing it. Mine is propane because we are on a ranch in the country. Strongly consider professional installation! Now I have hot water for days. My only reminder to those considering one of these, is that they are not instantly hot, just like my old water heater wasn’t instant. It depends on how far your sink, dish washer, shower, or washing machine is from the water heater. If the hot water has to travel a distance, it will take a minute to get hot.
