Seems very light insulation-wise but heats up quick. No instructions but simple to figure out. I'm 5'7" and 155lbs. 32" waist, the vest is really tight across the waist at the very bottom until you see the dual side zippers to adjust!! I bought a medium, a large would've been better. Had my vest for about a week now cycle the batteries many times, on low setting My battery only last 5 hours half of what it's supposed to. The on all switch doesn't work the way it's supposed to most of the time it doesn't respond when you press or hold it like the direction say. Would not recommend for the price it cost. ... show more

    • Lightweight Heated Vest for Hours of Warmth!

I usually wear a size small, however that was not an option, so I ordered the smallest size available (m) and it ended up fitting perfect. It's a nice bonus that there is an adjustable zipper on each side that you can undo if you want to expand it to fit over added layers of clothes. Maybe worth noting that you may need to order an alternative size (normally order small, order the medium, normally order medium - order the large, and so on?) When I first tried to power the unit on, it would flash for about 1 second and never do anything. The battery showed fully charged, however trying to use the switch on the vest it never would power up. I fiddled with it for about an hour and finally gave up. I had determined that it was defective, though was not sure if it was the battery pack or the vest itself. So I decided that I would return (exchange) it. A few days later the new one showed up and it worked perfectly. Due to this, I am knocking a star off, as I feel they should of tested the vest and battery pack prior to sending it out. Overall this vest is fantastic. It heats well, the battery will last the majority of the day on medium setting, and it looks stylish without a flashy brand name plastered all over it. I really like the 3 heat settings, depending on how warm you want it to be. It has several heating zones, and it's nice that one of them is in the pocket area, as you can warm those fingers up by simply putting your hands in your pockets. Overall a fantastic product that will get lots of use. Just wish we wouldn't of had a DOA vest the first go-around. ... show more
