So what we have here is yet another iteration of a very popular FC-on-a-chip from China. They tend to have the same menu, the same menu music, the same game selection, and the same repeats of several games which means it's not truly 500 (or whatever number they say) different titles, but duplicates of several titles, sometimes with palette swaps or minor tweaks. The casing is adorable, I must say. It's a nice looking console. The buttons are alright, but the D-pad isn't a D-pad so much as it's a disc that does 8-way control with extremely limited precision. Playing popular dot-eating maze games is a nightmare on here because the D-pad isn't up to it. The battery's the same old mobile phone battery you've seen in these devices before, so it'll be easy to replace if you ever wear it out. The screen is too wide for the system they're emulating here, so everything's stretched out. Emulation is good enough-- I mean, it's 8-bit stuff so it's pretty easy at this point-- but you can't add or change ROMs or upgrade the experience at all. Sound is plenty loud enough and seems accurate for the most part. Basically, this is great for a kid or for someone who isn't very familiar with emulation consoles. It's fine for some quick gameplay in the back seat of the car or waiting in the doctor's office, but not really something you'd use for dedicated long-term gaming. It's fairly pocketable, though, so that's a good thing. All in all, it's average for these Chinese console-on-a-chip systems. The shell is pretty though. Three "it's OK" stars. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We just received this gaming console. It waa delivered in time and came well packaged. It looks beautiful....I like the shape and the green color looks cool. As I tried to pull out the cover to put the battery in place the cover got a crack. Its a gift for my kids and I was a bit dissapointed to see the crack. I think the body needs to be of slightly better quality. Nevertheless we tried a few games and this looks like a fun console. I am sure the kids are going go love it. Only if they could improve the quality it is a very interesting device. I hope it runs well over time. I will edit my review over time when my kids use it. ... show more

The best thing about this as a parent is volume control, mobility and the sheer number of games. So that makes it great for backyard play, car rides or camping or just running errands rather than be stuck in front of a tv. You can of course also plug it into the tv using the cable provided but we haven’t tried that yet. I’ll update my review with any issues. My daughter just turned 7 and is very bright for her age. She also has adhd and I got this in a panic because I’m a single SAHM and don’t have her signed up for camp full time this summer so I was worried she will get bored. So, combined with lots of craft kits, I decided to add this to our rotation. It easily eats up an hour while I make dinner. Immediately she picked this up and started tackling all the games. Only one of them she said was impossible and got stuck on but there’s enough other games, rather than get too frustrated she simply moved on to the next one. Angry birds is a popular one on here. The color is fun and retro and is a flashback to some of the simpler games we Xennials grew up with. My parents never really encouraged me to play video games growing up but then I wasn’t raised by a single mom with sole custody. This mama needs some uninterrupted time to get stuff done and this is a lifesaver. Updated to remove a star because although the battery inside says rechargeable, it must be bad because we cannot get this to work unless it’s plugged in. That drastically reduces the locations this can be used. I’ll order a replacement battery and update my review if we can get it to work cordless as it’s supposed to. Update #2: I added a star back on because after careful inspection the battery had been inserted backwards. Perhaps this was intentional to conserve it during transit I don’t know but if so there should have been a note included as such. So now I’m wondering whether the other reviewers who have had issues may have had the same issue. I will say the back cover is almost impossible to get off. I had already ordered two replacement batteries before I realized the two metal connections didn’t match up. I know my daughter will play this a lot when camping so now at least I’ll have those. ... show more
