Fantastic lens! I’ve only shot with “L” glass with the exception of a very sharp Tamron 24-70 that this is replacing (sent it to my sister). The focus is fast without any hunting, the image is sharp and the bokeh is beautiful. I’m really pleased with this lens and it’s so light!

Great lens at a great price point. The only minor quibble I have, which I knew before I bought it, is that you must extend it to start taking pictures. It’s minor, and you get used to it. It’s light and handy and a sharp piece of kit.

Fantastic lens. Focuses fast, very sharp throughout the zoom, and feels very solid on my R8. If you want a professional quality lens for a lower price, this is the perfect lens for you. It is perfect for videos and photos, and does not come off my camera.

Unless you are a professional or accomplished amateur taking photos during all sorts of weather related events, THIS is the lens you need. This lens takes fantastic photos, is very solidly built and feels great to use. The lens is weather sealed- not to the extent that the L-Series is, but in light weather related events like soft rain and drizzle the 28-70mm lens perfectly fine. The aperture is 2.8 throughout the zoom range and does very well in low light. You are getting 90% of what you get with the L-Series for about $1300 LESS off the L Series price. Terrific buy!!!     • Great value lens, try it before buying the 24-70
Labored over this lens vs. the more expensive L version and I'm very glad I saved $1500. This lens is sharp, fast, decent build quality for a non-L lens and provides vibrant colors. It's compact and lightweight, allowing me to bring along other lenses and not weigh down my pack. The zoom retracting to a locked position is annoying and makes it look cheap but I suppose this is the trade off with keeping it compact and lightweight. Highly recommend ... show more

    • Light, compact and work’s perfectly
Smaller and lighter than the 24-70mm L version. It’s worth the money in every way. I actually sold my L lens due to the extra weight. In my opinion, It’s just as sharp, stabilized well, and performs perfectly. Yes, we lose 4mm of width, but in the scheme of things, it doesn’t effect the use too much. In my case I also own a 14-35mm lens for super wide images. If I have one fault with it, it’s the expanding the lens to 28mm notch prior to being able to use the lens. I realize however that this design is why the lens can remain so compact in a backpack. It’s a very minor issue. ... show more

    • You won't be disappointed
This is a great great lens, it's best attributes are it's low light capability and sharpness. Having said that, I'm maybe... maybe trading it for the 24-104mm F4 for the added range and since I mainly shoot in well lit areas 🤔 besides it's a time tested lens that pairs very well with my R6ii

    • An incredible lense for the price
Very easy to recommend. Not perfect, made to work with lens corrections in-camera. But for the price, you can’t complain. Not as good as new L lenses but not as bad as kit lenses either, Perfectly in the middle and the results speak for themselves. Love it!
