I upgraded from a forward facing Rexing camera for the dual views. Works great, it is slower to activate, much larger (2x’s), and the record & mic buttons blink (dimly) red which can be distracting.

Camera pretty much does its job. Picture is detailed and clear. One time, I had a rock come out of the sky and hit my windshield, on a bridge. I was able to take still shots of the video, (video editing software), then zoom in to see the numbers on the light post and even what the rocks trajectory was (literally it came from the sky!) So yeah, high quality, high resolution. But the major downfall for me is the smart hardwire kit. I've used 2 different ones, one from Amazon, one from Rexing and the camera did not recognize either of them. Can't get parking monitor to function. ... show more

3 days after I installed it I was at a stop sign and there was a 3 car pile up right in front of me. The police were very grateful for the SD card.

    • Rear camera cable too short; App only has 1/2 of the function
To be fair I have not fully tested the Rexing V1P Pro but this is what I have done so far: (1) Installation. GOOD: The package provides 2 sets of front dashcam mounting bracket/tapes. BAD: The rear cam 20-ft mini-USB cable is too short for my install (mid-size 3-row SUV). I routed the cable from the windshield/rearview mirror to the passenger side A-pillar, then down to the floor and hide the cable under the front door step trim, then the rear door step trim, then... I am pretty sure you can imagine the route I was taking. Eventually the 20 ft cable ended 6 inches shy from my rear hatch door. There is another at least 4-5 ft lenght of cable required to route the cable to the top of the rear windshield. Therefore, so far I only installed front dashcam and the rear dashcam is still in the box. I can't find any 25ft mini-USB cable on Amazon. I may return the whole set if I cannot find the solution. (2) The App is interesting. I have a lot of dashcam in the last 15 years. This is the first time I use an app with it. GOOD: The app installation is easy. The connection between app and dashcam is simple and quick. The app is quick responsive. BAD: The setting function is 1/2 bake. There are 2 tabs (each with multiple pages). Unfortunately REXING programmer only did 1/2 of the work. Only 1 tab of setting shows up on the app. The other setting tab you still have to configure that on the dashcam.     • So good i bought a second one
The media could not be loaded. Love the front and rear facing camera. With the smart hardware kit, it also works as a parking monitor if the car gets bumped, and the super capacitor is a big improvement over lithium batteries. I’ve caught 4 accidents on my old v1, including one where I didn’t even realize the other car sideswiped me. Luckily i had my rexing and the video proved to the police that they hit me, but that the jeep didnt even wobble, which is why I didn’t notice or stop. That could have been a huge headache.     • Need SD card!
Just opened it up and powered it on. Changed some settings around, ready to use. It did not come with an SD card so I'm kinda stuck. Video quality seems good but I can't record to view it until I get a memory card.

I bought the dual set front and back V1P PRO over a year ago.. I was recently in a car accident and luckily had the dash cam on and it was able to record everything. But only my front cam works, so given how resourceful the can was i figured I would try to figure out the 2 issues i was having which are - the back cam not connecting to front - the app not working with live feed from the cams. As of recent the front cam won’t recognize the back. I’ve tried everything, from updating firm ware to buying new mini usb cables, to now buying a new set of dash cams. I just received the box to find just the front cam no back.. WTF?? Also not to mention they recently did an update on the app, whatever they did will not allow the live feed to be viewed once connected phone to dash cam.. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS BRAND, FIND ANOTHER ONE.. ... show more
