This smart wire kit works exactly as functioned, however the instructions are very minimal and leave a lot out. You need additional tools to install this (circuit tester light probe) and rexing fails to mention critical details in their 1 minute instruction video, such as: **The wires are directional and it matters which way you plug them into the fuses. If you plug them in backwards it will look wired up right but will not function properly, such as never turning off and draining your car battery** Them putting a little more effort into their instructions than "step 1, route the wiring through your car trim, this could be tricky" then "step 2, plug in the hardwire kit, it's that easy" would have saved me 7 of the 8 hours I spent on this project

I’m very pleased with this. There have been times I’ve forgotten turn it off and the camera has run all night. But now it cuts off a few seconds after I turn off my truck. Wish I had a Rexing in December when I got hit from behind at a red light

Really good hardwire kit, but like in the title, the fuse taps it comes with have mini fuse taps, but my two vehicles (2019 and 2021) only have micro fuses, so couldnt install until we ordered the proper fuse taps

After I went to start my car to go to work and found my battery dead because my dash cam was left on for days, I figured I better get this product. It was pretty easy to install if you are comfortable working on cars and or 12v wiring. The only thing I don’t like about it is that the voltage level is had set to 11.9 volts. Meaning that your car battery has to drop to 11.9 volts before this will turn off the dash cam. That is a little low for those of us in cold climates. It was 24 degrees a couple mornings ago and my car barely started. And my battery is only 1 year old.

I made mistake in buying a kit from different supplier that only had two wires. Would not work properly. Bought the kit from Rexing a nd installed it. Camera worked great. Another issue is mounting to windscreen, I ended up making a block to move camera lens back from windscreen and angle different so I could see screen pictures clearly. (Installed on 2013 Hyundai Elantra gls, factory installed anti glare windscreen) The tinting was giving a dark picture all the time until mod block

I used this wiring kit for the Rexing V1P-4K Dual Camera Dashcam. This is the 4th dashcam I'm installing so I have a bit of experience. The wiring itself is fairly straight forward. Most of my time I spend was on finding the proper fuse to tap on the vehicle's fuse box. Luckily my vehicle (Audi Q3) has a couple of empty fuse slots that were open and used those to connect the red and yellow leads. Also lucky that the leads they provided were the same as the ones on the car, so no replacing/rewiring the taps on my part. Couple of things to note: 1. As other said "why is there no 90 deg Mini USB connector", would have been really nice to have it to achieve a much neater install. I'm guessing maybe some dashcam models (using this same wiring harness) have their USB power input oriented opposite of my V1P, if that is the case then it makes sense. 2. Just a warning in case this causes your car battery to drain. I noticed after completing the installation, when you plug in the unit with the ignition OFF, the camera would power up and will stay powered up indefinitely. You have to cycle the ignition key on, then off for the camera to power off with the ignition off. UPDATE: While everything seem to be working fine for the past few days, just found out by accident today that my camera did not stop recording after I put the car in the garage about 3 hours ago. So I continued researching what's causing this. I simply wanted for the camera to operate while the vehicle is running (so no parking mode required). One reviewer indicated that if this is how you want to operate the camera, connect the YELLOW wire to SWITCHED 12v source (and disconnect the RED). I did this and it seem to works. Need to verify this the next few days to confirm. Apparently the labeling on the kit (as other reviewers mentioned) is probably still incorrect/switched. Sorry, downgrading it 1 star because of inadequate instructions.

I bought this item to make use of the parking monitor feature in a Rexing Dash Cam with front and rear cameras. It also eliminated the need for a 12v socket adapter, making the installation look OEM and professional. Once I worked through the drawbacks outlined below, the kit works well and provides the required power to make use of the parking monitor feature built-in to the Rexing V1P Max. Three drawbacks I experienced: the fuse taps that came with the hardwire kit were pre-installed. This made running it through a firewall penetration boot problematic. The fuse taps were not the right size for my application. I ended up cutting off the fuse taps to run the circuit through the firewall and installing new fuse taps that were right for my application. I also added weatherproof wire glands to the new connections between the wires and the new fuse taps. The third drawback was the plug connector at the camera was a straight connector. It should have a right-angle connector, similar to the the rear camera and 12v adapter connectors.
