  • It does a good job or removing moisture.
Size: 4
It rained in my car and these have helped absorb the moisture very well. It seemed to help with the smell too. I got 4 of them and I was planning on using 2 in my car. However they are a little smaller than expected and I ended up putting all 4 in there which was okay.

  • Don't Make My Mistake
Size: 2
The media could not be loaded. When diving, I often have to travel home with my gear, which is not 100% dry. I liked the look of these because they would tell me when they were no longer working, and then I could microwave them to get them working again, even if I was away from home. I also had a couple of other places around the house that could use these when not in my dive bag. To test them, I put two bowls of water into two other larger bowls and sealed them up with a remote sensor to read the humidity in both. Both settled at 82% humidity, after which I put one desiccant pack in one of the bowls, which then went down to 41%. I let it sit in the bowl for a week, and it still had not turned completely orange, and the pack was still absorbing moisture according to the sensor. After a few more days, I put the bowls back out in the sun and saw moisture condensing inside the bowl. After a few more days, the sensor showed what I consider black, but they say dark green. This is where things got tricky. There is a small difference in how the listing description says to dry the pack out compared to the instructions on the pack. The front and back of the pack are also different. What I found out the hard way is to ignore what is written on the front and that it is best to err on the side of caution. You can, in fact, cook these beads too much, which I did. The first time I followed the instructions on the front of the pack, my fault. Everything looked good, but the beads were still not orange. I let them cool down and started doing 3-minute increments at 80%, letting the packs cool down each time. The pack did not want to go back to orange. Also, put a paper towel under the pack as it can bleed the pack's cover color and writing onto the surface of the microwave. Finally, the plastic window on the pack melted slightly because the beads were too hot inside. Through all this, the beads never turned back orange. After inspecting the beads themselves, I figured out I actually cooked the beads black with my first microwaving, which is why the beads never turned back orange. So the moral of the story is take you time and keep the beads from getting too hot with each microwaving. On the second pack I used the oven trick to cook the pack at 150 degrees, which equates to about a gram dried an hour. Drying takes a very long time, but it’s very safe. I also weighed the pack before using it at 203 grams, saturated at 222 grams. You can always use the weight to tell if a pack is dry enough to use again. What I learned was that the packs do in fact reduce the humidity as claimed. Be careful about letting the beads get too hot. The packs do not leak any kind of desiccant or desiccant dust from the pack. Finally, what is turning color through the window is the desiccant itself so you can be assured that the color change is accurate. In other words, it is not a separate humidity sensor of some type. These two packs are a great deal. They help keep the humidity down in places you need, they let you know when they need to be recharged, and they are reusable over and over to save you money. ... show more

  • Bit big but does the job
Size: 2
Nice to have these as i was tired of constantly having to get new packs. They work well. They're just as little big if I had any complaint. Given their reusability, would be nice if they were a bit smaller to fit in some of the smaller filament cases

  • these work great
Size: 2
This is a review for: Reusable Desiccant Packs 200g Rechargeable Dehumidifier Bags Silica Gel Packets with Transparent Indicator Window Toxic-Free Moisture Absorbers for Gun Safe Car Closet 3D Filament Storage(2 Packs) These work great. They do the job, last a long time, are easy to refresh, and give clear indication of when you need to do so. I recommend drying slow and low on a pan in a toaster oven with a reliable temperature gauge. I run it at 200 degrees for several hours, which will gently dry it thoroughly. You could easily melt the synthetic fiber bag trying to dry with a microwave. ... show more

  • Careful! Easy to melt!
Size: 4
Careful. I microwaved my bag to renew it. It melted. See photograph. To be fair, it was partly my fault. The directions on the bag are for a 600 watt microwave and mine is 1100. You have to be very gentle when renewing these. The bag is not as durable as a non-synthetic fiber like cotton.

  • Great LARGE reusable desiccant packs
Size: 2
Even knowing the weight of these ahead of time I was a little surprised at how large they were. They are roughly 6.5" by 4.25". I purchased these to place in large sealed boxes I keep 3d printing filament in. At this size one per box will do a great job keeping the moisture out of my filament. I definitely like that these are made with sturdy fabric (not just a thin non-woven) and have a window to show the beads. They are also all color change, not just a mix with a few color change thrown in, so it's really easy to see when they need to be recharged. I tested one in a humid environment so I could test recharging them and following the included microwave instructions was very easy. I highly recommend using a kitchen scale so you know when they are finished and don't overcook them (you can run any desiccant if you zap them too long in the microwave). East 5 stars and a great tool for a larger filament bin. ... show more

  • Works great for protecting items in a long term safe.
Size: 2
I got these to protect some collectables in a long term safe. I was most excited about the fact they can be reused. Although I haven't had to restore them yet as the moisture levels are already pretty low, it's great to have the added peace of mind knowing these are in place to protect these items from rust and corrosion related to moisture. ... show more

  • Large, tough, well made bag
Size: 2
Bag seems to be made of a tyvek like material. Seams are well sown and tight. Sight windows seems to be a clear PVC material, similar to material used to make the clear vinyl windows in boat or RV covers. Used to dry a container of 3D filament and seems to work well. Humidistat placed within the container confirms moisture is being removed, although I wouldn't say it any faster or dryer than other desiccant packs I use. I have not had the product long enough to necessitate running through the drying process, although the directions on the site and printed on the bag seems to be straight forward, although one of my concerns would be the printed directions rubbing off over time. I do like the larger volume of material. I'm hoping it'll be longer between drying cycles with the additional material. ... show more
