  • Not a bad game stick; lots of old games--but mostly for NES and SNES. VERY small PS1 list.
If you check the listing counter in the app, it appears to be 10k games, not 20k...but I could be wrong. This stick is pretty focused on Famicom (original NES) and Super Famicom (Super Nintendo)--alas, there are very very few PS1 or Atari games and certainly not the whole catalog, just a few games. Too bad, because I thought for sure I get a lot of classic PS1 games to enjoy on here, but not really. I found every old game I wanted to play on SNES and NES, though, about 10 I could think of, though I did not do an exhaustive search for everything. The game editions come from all over the world, so when it says 10 or 20k games, it's counting the same edition of the same game but in a different language--a little misleading here. You're getting the exact same game counted multiple times. Connection started right up on a Samsung HDMI source input. The interface is mostly good, a little weird and low production value, and sometimes tough to manage on the PS-controller. I like that they did a history section so you don't have to search all the time for the game you've been playing. Also, a collection tab, too, to put the games you care about in one place. The thing with these game sticks and their controllers is that the wireless connection means a tiny tiny little bit of delay in the on-screen response. I guess you kind of get used to it. Also, you've really got figure out all the buttons while you're playing, because they switch normal function between games based on however it was programmed. But it's very neat to be able to play all these old games that I haven't seen in 30 years. I like that they send you two controllers so that my wife and I can battle on old school Mario Kart. Another thing to note is that they spread the games very wide on the screen, rather than their old ratio, so it might look a little funny on a big screen with those pixel based games. Tough to see to sit back. I'm going to get some boredom use out of this by playing some old 8 and 16 bit games, so this one clocks in at a 4, though I wish had way more PS1 games and was more responsive to buttons on the controller. Great blast from the past at a pretty good value. ... show more

  • Great video game system
The media could not be loaded. First of all, this was super-easy to set up, the hardest part for me was figuring out where the ports are on my TV, since I don't often connect things to it. You will need to have an HDMI port to connect the video, and a USB port to plug in for power. My TV does have a USB port that I was able to plug it into. If you don't have a free USB port on your TV, it should work with an adapter (not included) plugged into the wall, as well. I love that it is a small unit that does not take up a lot of space, the unit can just hang off the back of the TV (very small), and the controllers are wireless, so you can keep them anywhere! That is a huge plus, I have other game devices that only play a few games and take up space, so I end up unplugging them to put them away. This can just stay plugged in. This system literally has thousands of games. Some of them are duplicates: different versions from different countries, or on different systems. I did encounter a couple that don't really work that well. I think there are enough perfectly functioning games that that can be overlooked.. It's easy to look through by either paging through the list or searching, and there are lists for history and favorites, so you can easily get back to the ones you like. It's worth taking the time to page through the lists and looking at the pictures for each game, though, because not all the games are listed by the actual name you know it by. Comes with 2 joysticks that have similar look and feel to PS joysticks, although not exactly identical. Batteries (AA) not included, but once you install them they connect and work instantly. I've only played one player, but there are two in the box for two-player fun! Of course most of these games are older, they include some games for PC, Sega, Nintendo, even some Atari, making it perfect for nostalgia purposes, but fun for all ages. I included a video of the screen to give an idea how it works, but it actually looks clearer than that, and not so blueish, it was dark in the room and hard to capture correctly. Definitely recommend for all ages who enjoy these vintage games! ... show more

  • Great Retro Console That's Easy to Use
A lot of Retro consoles come pre-loaded with RetroArch or other open source emulation software and it can be a complex mess to setup and get right. This little console fits in your pocket and can plug into any HDMI port. The addition of two controllers is a great touch so that you can get a friend and just start gaming. Again, with open source software setting up multiple controllers can be a pain. The Micro-SD card comes preloaded with hundreds of retro games and is removeable so you can add your own or expand the size of the card for more games. The emulator goes up to PS1 level. The PS1 games played fine with only an occasional stutter. Great little unit for traveling or setting up in the car on a monitor to keep the kids happy. ... show more

  • This little game stick took me back to my childhood, and I cannot be happier!
This is one video game system that I have zero regrets about getting. It has so many games that were my whole childhood growing up. It's pure nostalgia. It has games from all the popular systems from Atari on up to PS one. So many great games to choose from. I also love that it gives you a search tab where you can type the game in to find the game instead of looking one by one through 20 thousand games. The controllers work well, and they're wireless. I wish I could give 10 stars for this one. It took me back to my childhood, and all those fond memories from the 80's, 90's, and early 2000's! I absolutely love this console. People who are looking for all the childhood games in one spot should definitely pick one of these up! It's so worth it. ... show more
