Easy to install. Lightweight but decent hose. Easy to pull out and retract. Good flow and performance. Mostly use for watering and general hosing off stuff. Probably not for those wanting heavy duty high flow hose. Only knock is the plastic housing is slightly starting to fade after spring, summer, fall season (I bring it inside for winter). Although, I will say it gets full sun most of the day and is exposed to elements. I imagine if it is in covered area wouldn’t not be nearly as bad fading.

I love planting in my backyard, but I don't like to collect hose every time after watering. My neighbor suggested to buy a hose reel which can eventually solve my issue. So I searched and found this one. It turned out I made a good choice. The hose reel I bought was 100ft and it was retractable. The quality is great, and it was heavy. The hose can be smoothly pulled out and the mechanic works well. The material used look very goods, as it claimed for heavy duty usage. So I believe it should survive during the winter here. The shipping was fast and I know the hose reel was heavy, thanks for the delivery man!

Having a mounted hose reel is such a great way to keep your hose stored. I have a hose reel stand for one of my hoses but the trouble with those is that they are clunky and a pain to move around when using them. Unlike the stand type, the retractable mounting system adds efficiencies in many ways. Mounting the reel was pretty easy and adds a nice modern look. The reel helps organize the hose and makes it much easier to move around the yard without having to pull on the hose for more feed. The reel is smooth when retracting the hose. What I like most about this reel system is that it includes everything you need and you wont need to worry about buying a compatible hose and hose attachment. Having everything included in the box makes installation simple. The fireman style hose head is also a nice touch and works as advertised. The hose itself has been good and I haven't experienced any leaks thus far. The 1/2inch hose is a little smaller than I'm used to but still works just as good. The only thing I would change is maybe a more robust bracket but so far I haven't had any issues with the one that comes included.

Product comes put together. You just need to mount the base it sits on. My house is vinyl siding so I chose to mount it there. I had some scrap siding I held on the edge of a PT 2x6 and used my bandsaw to cut out the siding profile in the back of the 2x6 so it wouldn't crush the siding when I put it on. I added a couple of 3" galvanized lag screws to hold the PT to the house and then screwed the included lag screws to secure the base to the PT base. Please note the base arm that attaches to reel is made of plastic. It seems like it's strong but I would be worried if it was going to be in a place that gets a lot of sun that it could wear down the plastic faster. Might be a reason the hose reel has only a 2 year warranty. I plan to take mine down in the winter and store it inside just to protect it's life span. Also, it does come with rubber washers inside but mine did still leak even after using pliers to tighten it to the spigot. I took it off and then wrapped the spigot with the included teflon tape and that has helped. The house retracts and extends well. The output is a little weaker than I was expecting. Not a dealbreaker or anything but it was replacing the same size hose so not sure why it would be weaker. Maybe it's because I'm using the included nozzle and not comparing it against the old nozzle on the old hose. Lastly, it has a ball stop to keep the hose from retracting all the way in. I'd estimate mine extended a good 4 feet from the hose stop to the nozzle which is more than I'd like. It was easier enough to loosen the 2 phillips screws and slide the ball down closer to the nozzle and it seemed to retract fine. So time will tell how it holds up to the weather but so far so good. Definitely a large improvement on the old school reel non retractable reel it replaced. I'd recommend.
