This is a really nice aquarium for a turtle. In fact, this tank has really helped us get our turtle to eat different things. This tank is very easy to clean and has a drain you just have open to do frequent water changes which are suggested for turtles as their tanks can get rather dirty. This tank is a great size for our turtle too who needed the extra room to move around more. The ability to open on the side is great for feeding and cleaning and it seems like our Razorback Musk turtle is a lot less shy when we are in there trying to feed or clean. I think coming from the top of our previous 40 gallon fish tank gave her anxiety or something. The doors on the side are easy to open and close and can be locked. Be careful to not slide them too hard because I found they can make a huge bang. The water level is perfect for a turtle too. It is obvious this was designed for a reptile rather than a fish and it does appear to be much brighter. I put a 100 gallon filter and one of the 40 gallon filters we had and the water has looked pretty good. We even brought in some water lettuce from our outside pond. I really like this tank for our Razorback Musk turtle we call ET. The tank was not over priced and easy to fit together for the most part. This is probably the most stressful thing I’ve ever had to do,I purchased this tank due to the positive feedback and good reviews.The package arrived as advertised,I was so excited.My red eared slider has been in a giant tupper ware and I was eager to finally put him in a nice tank,at the start assembly was easy.But as soon as I got to the second half(putting the panels on and roof)the instructions where extremely unclear .I tried for almost an hour to figure it out,I finally thought I had the panels on correctly.It looked exactly like the video and then one of the panels fell and shattered all over because of you stupid design which did not secure it properly.My roof was too small for the enclosure as well.Please for the love of god do not buy this product ... show more

Tank is solid and leak tested. I reinforced silicone on all seams and allowed to cure a week before testing. Also tested for a week with no leaks. Reports of leaking are probably related to improper installation and/or use of the drain bulkhead. Directions are useless and company does not respond to any contact requests for clarification, so not recommendable for beginners. Instructions list the steps for install as outer piece, gasket, inner piece. This makes sense as gaskets for bulkhead go on the inside. However, the inner "nut" is not flat and has legs which pinch the gasket, asking the seal useless. There is an indent in the outer piece into which the gasket would fit, but the gasket is slightly shorter, so that would not seal either. I filled the outer piece indent with silicone, and put the gasket on the inside (so the legs aren't pinching the glass potentially causing stress fractures). I've almost 50 years of experience with aquariums, so could recommend this if you know what you're doing. But if you're a newbie, I'd be wary. ... show more

The manufacturer of this product should leak check their tanks to ensure there are not going to be any leaks in the tank when the customer receives their purchase. Pretty disappointing.

This is a great design for my small aquatic turtles. The tank is not too deep and the sliding doors make for easy access to the animals while they are under water. And for feeding. I like the metal screen cover too I don't use the water draining hose as it does not pass through debris, but that not a big deal to me. ... show more
