This model was even easier to assemble than the shorter version I also recently purchased. I'm keeping a young pair of Everglades rat snakes in it, and there's plenty of room for branches and upper-level hides. It's also surprisingly sturdy, and everything fit together well--I actually bought two and both were just as high quality.     • Definitely tempered glass
I got this to replace a 40 gallon my mail beardie was living in. He is still young so didn't NEED the space, but it certainly doesn't hurt. The first unit I received must have been dropped as I can confirm that this is made with tempered glass. The box was full of tiny squares of glass confetti. Thankfully, Amazon has a great return policy and I was able to get it replaced. I would order online again in a heartbeat. That said, this is safely packed -- the second one arrived without damage. I was doubtful how much I would like a folding cage like this one. I had a hard time believing that it would be sturdy enough. It did help to have an extra pair of hands to put it together but I think I could have done it on my own . . . and the result is a sturdy cage. I love that the back is solid black and that stops the glass surfing that happened if I didn't shelf paper the glass. I only had to do the two sides. There is also no water leaking because the bottom is one piece and sealed. I like the pass through for the cords. I can actually open this one handed and since it is a lift up mechanism my cats haven't figured out how to open the doors (my originals have press down and magnetic doors) The screen top seems to keep out some of the light so I mounted my lights inside the terrarium. ... show more

    • Falling apart
The left side door fell off within a week of using, the glass was scratched in several places when it arrived and the bottom had a couple hairline cracks in it.
