It has a Home button!

Yes, it has a "Home" button and it works! We bought this to replace the poorly designed original remote that came with our 65" LG UHD TV we bought in 2018. I didn't have to program anything, I just pointed the remote at the TV and it worked. The home button is in the very bottom row of buttons, in the middle. The home button brings up the apps (Netflix, Prime, Paramount, Hulu, Spotify, etc), just like the original remote. I love this remote's design/layout, it mimics the best design LG ever had for their remotes. There's a finger cutout/recess on the back of the remote that allows you to position the remote in your hand the same way, every time you pick it up. This, combined with the button layout, unique size/feel of the most commonly used buttons (volume up/down, channel up/down, four-way arrow with "Enter" in the middle), makes this remote very easy to use in the dark. The four-way arrow/enter buttons are very tactile. There's a noticeable detent and corresponding audible click when they're pressed. This is the same style remote that came with our previous LG TV in 2010. I don't know why LG changed to the terrible design that comes with their TVs now, they're impossible to use in the dark. This remote is a great value, I'm very happy with it.

Did your Apple TV remote fail?? Buy THIS one.

Don’t overpay for a new Apple TV remote. Sure they FEEL nicer but they don’t last long. Just get this one. The rechargeable one. Does it feel elegant? No. But this thing just works straight out the box. The volume and mute even works with my soundbar. No regrets here.

Cheap replacement that just works with an AppleTV

First impression of this device when I took it out of the package was that it was a little thicker than the original Apple TV 4K remote it was replacing. It also takes AAA batteries and is not rechargeable. It’s also plastic, not metal like an original Apple TV remote. I put in batteries to try it out and to my amazement, it just worked with my Apple TV. I did not have to program anything. Since I use HDMI for controlling my Amp from the Apple TV, that also continued to work just like the original remote. There are a couple of differences from the original besides the thickness and the use of AAA batteries. 1. The main button does not allow for swiping, you have to press the ring around it to move which app is highlighted on the screen. 2. The button layout is a little different as well. The home button is top left and the back button is top right. Play button is second down on the left and there is also a TV input button that is third down on the left. That one worked, again with no programming, on my TV and pulled up the TV source screen. The mute button is also a physical button between the vol up and vol down buttons. 3. This is an infrared remote only, no bluetooth or RF signal to the Apple TV. You will need line of sight for it to work which could be a problem if your Apple TV and AV Amp is enclosed in an entertainment center or cabinet. But, as I said in the beginning, this remote just works with no programming necessary. For a cheap replacement, I think it’s fine.

Working great

I put batteries in it and it turned on my Samsung 85” tv, controlled the volume and signal source, and worked perfectly with my Apple TV 4th generation. I’ve only had it a couple of days but I like it much better than the original controller.

The borrower is operating as a 123-unit motel. Due to Hurricane Harvey, the borrower requested for a 12-month deferment due to financial hardship from serious flooding that has damaged the entire first floor. The borrower recently stated that they are open, but below the 50% capacity with some service being limited. In addition, the insurance company has not provided the borrowers any updates and the borrowers are in the process of obtaining an SBA disaster loan funds. The loan has not been boarded since East West Bank is still waiting for all the signed loan documents to be collected. The downgrade to substandard accrual is recommended due to the difficult financial state of the business after Hurricane Harvey and uncertain recovery. Downgrade: Further downgrade (non-accrual) will be consider if the loan is delinquent for more than 90 days. Upgrade: If borrower provides updated financials that support acceptable the debt service ratios So if you are looking for at this remote, you are likely to have an LG television. Mine LG is a 47LM6700-UA and it came with the magic wand remote. Magic remote worked, but the battery lock broke off and I had to tape the bottom for it to work. The great thing about this universal remote was that it worked right out of the box / package without having to register the remote. It did come with instruction manual showing how to register if it didn’t work right away. If you have a magic remote, you know that the buttons are limited. This universal remote makes the television experience so much better and faster. No need to push menu and move the cursor to make the television work. No need to hold the channel button up or down to get to your station. Push the corresponding button and bam you are there. Actually there was a lot more functions that I was surprise to see. One thing that I did notice was that the cursor is sometimes useful. I was playing a video via the USB slot and I realized that the cursor does have its use (allowing you to go to a point in the video). However, I used the fast forward button (in the bottom), which really helps defeats the purpose of the magic remote. I highly recommend this remote if you need to replace it. After some use, I discovered it is easily breakable, but I think it still deserves a 5 stars since it is functional, affordable, and does the same thing the OEM magic wand does. TL:DR 1) Excellent replacement for LG (specifically magic remote). 2) Worked out of the box. 3) Pre-determine buttons make it easier to use the television. 4) Highly recommended. 5) The product is easily breakable (edit), but still a 5 star.

Not useable with all apps on an AppleTV - so what good is it?

One specific feature is missing from the remote. Unlike the original remote, the middle button in the navigation circle does not have a swipe function. That causes real problems with some apps. For example, if watching live programming in Hulu, you would normally swipe up to go to the Guide. Since the swipe function does not exist, you cannot access the guild. In addition to that, the remote is flimsy - feels like it is made out of soda can metal. If you're like our family, after a couple of drops, it'll look like its been through a war. I wanted this to work - a remote at half price and I needed two - but just not worth it. Returned.
