I have two Chamberlain/Liftmaster garage door openers. One of them has had a problem with this gear, and the other one is starting to act up now. I bought this. - Way more complete kit than I ever imagined (thought I was just getting a gear or two) - Complete instructions which look just like they come from Chamberlain/Liftmaster - High quality parts, which look like factory. I can hardly believe what you get in this kit, for the price. It is an outstanding value. Let me explain. Last time this part failed on my 1st door opener the repair guy wanted to install a new 2000.00 garage door opener; the whole thing! After talking him down from his sales pitch, I discovered that he had some spare parts and might be able to just replace this gear. I had him do that at the cost of 200 USD. I am a DIY'er, and I really don't want to go through the sales pitch (on what is probably a 2500.00 garage door opener now). I am sure that I can install this part. Now it costs me less than fifteen bucks and not fifteen hundred bucks. Win. ... show more

    • This kit saved me from having to buy a whole new garage door opener.
I ordered this gear and sprocket kit to repair my Chamberlain 1/2 HP garage door opener. The shaft just below the upper drive gear had broken because it had become worn thin after 13 years of repeated use. It didn’t seem reasonable to pay for an entire garage door opener when only this part was damaged. Before placing my order, I checked the parts list in my garage door opener owner’s manual to verify compatibility. What I appreciate most about this product is that it is an all-in-one solution. It includes everything you need (except for the tools) to replace the drive gear. The instructions are easy to understand and follow. While some experienced users might complete the upgrade in 15 minutes, I recommend planning for 45 minutes to an hour if you are a novice like me. When I compared the new components to the old ones, I found them to be a very good match. After installation, I needed to go through the setup steps to adjust the door travel, but there were no complications. Now, my garage door opener is working like new again. Overall, I am very pleased with the outcome of this repair, and this kit saved me from having to buy a whole new garage door opener. Given that my opener has many years of useful life left, it made much more sense to repair it rather than replace it. If your garage door opener’s drive sprocket has failed, I highly recommend considering this product as a viable repair option. ... show more

Dropped right in with no issues. Replace a worn out gear set on my Chamberlain garage door opener and everything fit perfectly. Appears to be identical to the OEM gear set that I pulled out, except it had all the teeth on the gears. Very good quality and super easy to install.
