They did not hold together after assembled. They unsnapped after the 3rd time the awning was rolled down and the extender bars were extended. The springs flew out and got lost on both sides of the sliders. Not very good quality. Not satisfied with product. The knob kit nuts thread got stripped after a medium tightening.     • Poor design, nominally functional
These little latches are badly conceived...hard to install,and frequently just fall out when operating sliding rafter on trailer awnings. They are meant as a safety latch to keep rafter fully extened, which they do (though the rafter HAS it's on bolt-knob-tension lock device). If you can get them in, they work for a brief while, but then the cheezy springs get tired, and the whole assembly will just pop out with tiny bits (especially the near-invisible spring) flying everywhere in the foliage, terrain, grass...etc. You will spend more time looking for them than using them. Not the seller's fault; manufacture's flimsy design of a redundant part, that seems important (but basically isn't) and has been resold by Chinese precision experts with unsuitable metallurgy quality. Highly recommend you attach spring base to plastic tab permanently (don't heat it to do so, that will destroy what little spring tension it has to begin with). ... show more

    • Exactly the right thing!
Exactly what I needed but was super hard to hold the spring to install. A piece of tape did the trick to hold the spring until the pieces clicked together, then the tape pulled right out.
