  • Best used in warm climates that do not freeze!
Style: 4K 8MP
Easy hookup. Watch a YouTube video or read the directions if you need help on the install. Not suggested to be used in climates that freeze. If temperature drops below 32°F/0°C it will not charge. Charging also starts to slow down if the temperature starts dropping towards freezing. Read the descriptions and special instructions before purchasing any REOLink product. They are all different with how they manage storage or let you view remotely. Some require the HUB Some do not, some can be viewed from the APP some you have to pull down the camera and pull the SD card. I have a couple solar reolink's, hard wired cameras reolink's, and indoor/outdoor wifi plug-ins reolink's. All are a little different, but they all work. Just be mindful of the solar camera's not working in cold environments... ... show more

  • Pleasantly surprised how solar keeps it charged so far..
Style: 5MP
I've own lots of surveillance camera because I own and operate a liquor store. I have some original Arlo ones, those still work, but I wouldn't buy anymore of those because of the constant prompt of buying a subscription. This Reolink Argus PT battery powered is working pretty well so far. I have it connected to a DVR, and the solar power has kept it charge at 100% since the original installation a few days ago. I am in Northern Minnesota, and I'll report back in the mid December or January and see how it holds with constant below zero temp and sometime little or no direct sun light. ... show more

  • Great camera, poor instructions.
Style: 5MP
The camera was great, the quick start instructions were terrible. I had trouble getting it set up but I finally figured out what to do. I used the Windows app to set up the camera, and it told me to input the UID. I didn't know what this was and where to find the UID. The instructions didn't tell me. I used Microsoft Copilot AI and it told me where to find the UID; it said it would be on the bottom of the camera and that the UID code would start with 9527, and sure enough it was there. Again no mention of this in the instructions or on the app. Another problem was that the device failed to connect to the wifi. So this required pushing a reset button with a special tool, that resembles a needle with plastic handle on the end, that you insert into a hole on the camera to do this. It took a bit of handling and moving the camera around on it's base to locate the hole. The instructions mentioned very little of this, but there were diagrams showing the parts included and one showing where things were on the camera body. After pushing the reset button I was finally able to get it to connect to my wifi, and it can connect to either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz wifi. The windows app tells you to enter the information for the wifi, but the field for the SSID of the network didn't specifiy that it wanted the SSID, it just said WiFi and then password below it. So once I entered ther SSID (which is the name of the wifi network) and the passcode, it connected ok. I noticed an item on the app called calibration and that adjusted the orientation of the camera and did some other calibration steps moving the camera to it's limits in pan and tilt. So apart from the quick start instructions being poor, the camera does work very well, and the picture quality is excellent. Given the low cost for such a high quality piece of tech, it's an outstanding value. The app controls the camera very well in pan and tilt. To zoom in or out, you use the scroll wheel on the mouse. When zoomed in on something, you can move the zoomed in area around using the mouse. If you double click the image in the app, it will go to a screen that can show multiple cameras at the same time. So if I decide to add more cameras later, I can view them all in one place at the same time, or cycle through each camera sequentially. Many brands of security cameras require an internet connection in order to work, and I find that extremely limiting especially when my internet connection goes out. Also those brands that require an internet connection tend take a lot longer to connect to the camera. The Reolink cameras can connect to the Reolink web site, but this is optional and not required to use the camera. Consequently, the Reolink camera connects very quickly like in about one second or less. If it wasn't for the poor startup instructions I would give this camera 5 stars easily. It's a great buy. If you decide to get one, hopefully my comments here will help you get started with it. ... show more

  • Amazing
Style: 4K 8MP
Second one we order and we are amazed! We've had ring and blink and this one is by far the most favorite. Value for the money as you can see very clear and not blurry. It does rotate 360 so covers a lot of surroundings. Unlike blink and ring it only records facing the way you set it up. Dont have to worry about battery life as it is solar panel! ... show more

  • customer support was no help, camera kept disconnecting
Style: 5MP
better cameras out there, dont be fooled by all the ads. These things are buggy as hell. Ultimately the only solution customer support can offer is to return it, which i did, twice. Spent days trying to get this thing to stay connected, when I put that camera in its final position, it would disconnect at random times, sometimes in the middle of the night, then a beep and start up languages would come thru the built in speaker,,,,OUTSIDE so my neighbors could hear it. Again, climbed a ladder, retrieved it, brought it back inside, restarted, reset, scanned the QR ,,,and set it inside for a day,,,worked fine, put it outside even closer to my router, and presto, same stuff, disconnected, beep sounds, languages for start up...so I found that glass was this cameras kryptonite, it dont like it. Which is pretty pathetic since it works thru plywood when I put it down stairs on my work bench. But installing it outside, fully charged, fully reset, fully working.....bammm, disconnect. Get another camera, anything but this piece of garbage. WYZE camera was my choice and has been working flawlessly for a week, easy setup, good features with pan and track....and far cheaper. ... show more

  • A few snags
Style: 5MP
The camera from Amazon had to be replaced by Reolink right out of the box due to setup issues. Replacement setup right away but had a few snags which required email and phone communication. All is working well now having just a few days of running. Fingers crossed it continues to work without any further issues. ... show more

  • Solar Powered Outdoor PTZ Camera
Style: 4K 8MP
I bought this camera to integrate with Home Assistant. Beware, at this time you must purchase a REOLINK Hub to complete the integration. I ordered a Hub so I'll see how that goes. As a standalone camera it works great. I can see it from my Android phone and on my PC with free REOLINK software. This system is completely local without any need for cloud storage ($$$). In time I will add up to 7 more cameras to connect to the Hub. Hopefully also to use the cameras on Frigate NVR. ... show more
