Late in the day i hit 500 watts Laying temporarily 15 inchs off ground. 1 panel Thrid party delivery guy suck bad. He damaged the box almost broken the glass, small cut only works good. Hire new delivery guy, i will buy more panels. Will package or it would have broke without it.

Poor technical support and customer service

VERY poor customer service model. I spoke to tech support last year (Just getting ahold of a technical person took several attempts.) and the batter cables Renogy sized for me were not large enough to handle the load (there's goes $50). Then when I opened one of the boxes for the solar panels, one of the two panels was shattered. The top of the box wasn't damaged so I admittedly didn't open it within their 30 day window. Upon looking at the bottom side of the box, it had been damaged by Renogy or the during shipping and the damage aligned with cracks on the panel. So in raising the issue with Renogy, their starting point was they would not cover anything or offer any discount on a replacement panel. After several phone calls and repeatedly asking to speak with someone other than their front line customer service I reached a supervisor that offered a 30% discount on a replacement. But the kicker is I have to buy TWO panels instead of one, and I have to buy direct from them, which is over $200 more expensive than buying the product off Amazon. When customer service doesn't have a satisfactory answer, they will not give you an opportunity to engage with anyone that actually makes the decision. They hide behind, "that's the decision the Team made". ... show more

590w in the same size as 550 panels? Take my money!
The weight of these panels are similar to the 550w panels, and the size is identical. And I got them for the same price! Good quality build from what I can tell. The frame is pretty standard, so install was no different than any other panel I have owned. Hoisting them up 15' to the roof was definitely a two person job. If you have rails (ladder) and some rope, that seems to be the best way. Also be cautious of the wind. While I was on a mostly flat roof, gusts up to 28mph made them want to fly away while I had them vertical. Once on the roof, they were ok. Power output so far has been right around 2100 watts for four panels. While they are on a roof mount now, I tested in the yard with a bit more back light to get those results (propped up with an extension ladder at about 15 degrees tilt). I did not put any reflective or white material behind them for testing like that. So far, they are producing more power than I use, so the battery is almost always at 100%. Incredible performance, but abysmal shipping ruined half my order

I recently purchased the 4-piece set of 400W panels (1600W total), which shipped boxed in pairs. Unfortunately, the delivery experience was a complete nightmare. The boxes arrived severely damaged—they looked as though someone had dropped them and literally walked all over them. Upon opening the boxes, I found that all four panels had damage to the corners of the frames. Worse yet, two of the four solar panels were completely shattered. The reason I am still giving this 3 stars is because of the actual product quality. The two panels that survived the shipping abuse still worked, and they perform exceptionally well. They are highly efficient and live up to the product specs. It is incredibly unfortunate that the delivery and condition upon arrival were so bad. Renogy is a great brand with fantastic products, but it is a shame to see their reputation tainted by terrible warehouse handling or a careless carrier. If you can actually get these delivered in one piece, they are amazing panels—just be prepared to deal with potential shipping damage. ... show more
