DON'T TRUST RENOGY!, BEWARE! Of 3RD PARTY SELLERS ON AMAZON!. I feel robbed and cheated:
When designing the solar system for my RV, I wanted to get a system that would give me the best value for the dollar. So I elected to install 5 100 watt panels and use the Renogy 40a MPPT controller. Before ordering the components I called Renogy Customer Service and asked one of their technicians if this controller would support 5 panels. This person said that it would. So I put the system together and it wouldn't work. I called Renogy and told them and we were able to determine that the charging voltage was too high (Over 100 volts. The charge controller required that the voltage cannot exceed 100 volts. They never said anything about there being a "maximum allowed charge voltage" or anything like that for this unit in any of their descriptions or documentation or when I talked to them. I even ran this by one of their technicians just to be sure. What more could I do? Oh well, I will just return the 40 amp unit and get a unit that will work with my system: or so I thought. So I went to Renogy and I asked for an exchange or refund. They flatly refused and referred me to Amazon. Amazon referred me back to Renogy saying that they were a 3rd party seller and I would have to deal with them. The Amazon representative connected us up to Renogy, and they hung up on us. Obviously they are not going to issue me a refund or allow me to trade up. WHAT A BURN !!! I said BEWARE of 3rd Party SELLERS on AMAZON because if there is a problem, you might run the risk of getting into the endless loop of AMAZON referring you to the seller, and the seller refusing to work with you, and then sending you back to AMAZON. I feel robbed and cheated!!! Anyone need a 40 amp charge controller??? Renogy products were good quality, but be prepared for them to not stand behind their products. If you look at other product reviews for them you will find I am not the first. Beware of Renogy's technical ability: They were the ones who said that this charge controller would work for me: I didn't know so I asked them, yet they want me to lose all that money when they were at fault. Renogy has some great products, but I do not want to continue doing business with them. Renogy's offer to settle was no refund, and that they would give me a 15% reduction on the charge controller I needed. The trouble was that their price was $405 which was far more than the $181 price of comparable units on AMAZON.

Not happy
The unit is a "Kit" it has two solar panels and some various cables and a charge controller. The unit has no way to utilize the second solar panel. The necessary parts are available for purchase but were not included. For the large sum of money I paid for this kit, I assumed a "kit" would have everything needed. I've already initiated the return process.

No response from customer service, "Kit" NOT COMPLETE!
Very poor customer service so far. I sent 3 emails with zero response so far, also called twice and was put on hold both times. All I wanted to know was if the 200 watt solar kit and one 100ah battery would be enough to power a 1000 watt inverter with 3 trickle charger/maintainers running off the inverter and keep my snowmobile batteries fresh during the summer months. A friend concluded it should be more than enough so I purchased the kit anyway but still not happy about the customer service. I will update my review in a few months with information about the performance of the kit. UPDATE: So I made an appointment to get this kit installed by a shop that has experience with solar. They are very busy and I was able to get in due to a cancellation. They just called me and said the kit did not include the Y adapters necessary to hook both panels together! What kind of cochamamy bs is that? Renogy sells a 2 panel "kit" but doesn't bother to include the y adapters? Are you kidding me? So now I will have to order the Y adapters and I've lost my appointment. The next opening isn't for another 3 weeks! NOT HAPPY! Renogy, include the damn Y adapter and raise the price of the kit duh! Another update coming once it gets installed and has been working for a few months.

System is great but TECH support needs a tune up
I am very happy with the 2 panel 40A Rover system I purchased and it was very easy to install. I have made several phone calls to Renogy (namely the tech dept) for advice and install questions. On more than one occasion I have been made to feel as if I am wasting their time, or my questions were so idiotic that I should be ashamed in calling. Out of the 4 times I called inquiring about wiring in series, fuse necessity etc, only one time was one tech helpful and supportive. Renogy needs to revisit their tech guy customer service and smack some people around to fix the issue.

Kit is complete - just daisy-chain the two panels!
I've been using this complete kit for months. Ignore those that think it is not a complete kit just because they don't realize that the two panels are daisy-chained to complete the circuit! So, one cable goes to one panel, then that panel plugs into the other panel, then that panel goes to the cable that runs back to the controller. (I have the kit with the 40A MPPT controller.) Now, to be clear, you will still need one or more batteries, and if you need 110v A/C then you'll need to get an inverter for that, but otherwise this is a complete kit! If you are new to solar, understand that the 100watt per panel rating is the best you'll get during peak sunshine periods. I suggest that you please do some basic solar research before purchasing any solar devices, or consult with a professional.

Great system, order y adapter seperate!
This is a great product, I installed it on my boat that is anchored off shore, connected to 4 marine batteries, I connected a 3000 watt inverter right to my shore power plug and now everything works on my boat, including my refrigerator, hot water and all my ac plugs. I was disappointed that the kit doesn’t come with the needed Y adapter that connects the second panel. I had to order that after the fact, but it’s only $10 and came quick. I noticed there is a 200 watt kit that comes with it on Amazon. But I give it 5 stars because it enables me to live off the grid, I will be adding more panels just ensure my system is at optimum levels especially in the winter.
