  • Easy install cover but not great for painting or repeat access
Number of Items: 1
The plus is these are quick to install, if you cut your hole size right (so the raised lip sits on it) they don't move around, and are not a pain during insertion. The sprung prongs stay out of your way until its most of the way into the drywall so it is easy enough to put in. As taking it out requires grabbing the corners be careful with painting otherwise you will make your job a good bit harder. I prefer the hinged panels I have used before as it is a bit more forgiving in terms of your hole sizing and more robust from an access POV (being more a true door than just a held in place block). These are quite affordable though and 12x12 is certainly a good size, can just about fit a small human through there. These can technically be painted, but I don't think they are really doing anything to help that over normal plastic. It is a flat smooth surface vs prior painted ones had texture to them. The texture makes them easier to paint, here you will either want plastic primer first or will need to do a few thin coats to get the paint to start to stick, also for a smooth surface like this a foam roller is your best bet. The other thing the texture on some others helps with is wall blend. The panel being perfectly smooth is going to stand out on nearly any wall. I quickly tried some wall texture but it didn't stick to the surface well. Potentially if you primed first then textured it might work, although I haven't ever done that combination before. Instructions are a bit quirky it says unfold trim along dotted lines. There is nothing to unfold nor any dotted lines, the instruction sheet is basically your hole size so trace that and cut using it as a template. The picture is also odd, it clearly is meant as a realistic picture given the hands and such in it but the hole cut out is far smaller than the panel back so wouldn't work. Minor items but probably could use updating. ... show more

  • Good access panel. Easy to install and stays in place. Paintable and hides gaps well.
Number of Items: 1
Someone cut drywall panels out of my closet and screwed them back in leaving some pretty unsightly gaps around the edges. I got this plastic access panel to cover the showerhead access and mixer valve openings. Installation was super easy — no tools required thanks to the spring click technology. The panel snaps in firmly and stays in place without any wobbling or falling out. I also really like that the panels are paintable. I was able to paint mine to match the surrounding wall perfectly which made the repair look much cleaner and more finished. The plastic feels sturdy enough to hold up well over time. It does a great job hiding the gaps and rough edges from the drywall cutouts. Overall, this was a simple and effective solution that improved the look of the area a lot. I’m very happy with how well it works and would definitely order again if I need more access panels. ... show more

  • Ok. Does what it should (for the time being)
Number of Items: 1
I got the RenoEZ Plastic Access Panel 12"x12" for a plumbing project in my basement, and it’s okay. The spring click technology is nice because you don’t need tools to open/close which makes things easier. It fits good on my drywall and covers the hole for the pipes neatly. The panel feels decently sturdy, not super heavy-duty but good enough for what I needed. That said, it’s not perfect. The plastic don’t feel as fancy as some other access panels I’ve seen, and I’m not sure how long it’ll last if I need to open and close it a lot. Also, the spring clips are a bit finicky sometimes—they click in okay, but one time it didn’t catch right and I had to wiggle it to close properly. It gets the job done, though, and it blends in okay with the wall. Overall, the RenoEZ panel is alright for simple projects. It’s easy to use and does what it’s supposed to, but don’t expect anything too heavy-duty. If you need a basic access door for plumbing or HVAC, it’s fine, but there might be better options out there if you want something more durable. ... show more

  • Great temporary wall covering.
Number of Items: 1
This panel is great for quick access to an area where we run our wiring for the house. I dont want to close it up until we finish renovations, but the hole in the wall was ugly. This panel, which is paintable, pops in and out with ease. Saves a ton of time and makes for easy access. It is a good size to work with. Any smaller and the hole would be too small. ... show more

  • perfect access panel, no caulking required, easy to install and paint over

Perfect size, easy to install, good value, no caulking needed due to the spring function. Easily paintable. I chose not to but the texture of this should make painting to blend with the walls a non issue

  • Access Cover Did Not Fit and Had Visible Quality Flaws
Number of Items: 1
I ordered the RenoEZ Plastic Access Panel for a simple home project where I needed a clean cover for a plumbing access point in my wall. I picked this one because it promised easy installation with no tools required, and the idea of just snapping it in place sounded like a time saver. When it showed up, I liked the overall look and the lightweight feel. It seemed sturdy enough for what I needed and the packaging was good. But once I tried to install it, things didn’t go as planned. The panel was actually a bit too large for the cutout I already had, and although I considered trimming the drywall, the real problem was the wall studs behind it. Because of their placement, I couldn’t push the panel in far enough to get it to snap in securely. It’s more like a cover than a door, so there’s no give to work around framing. Another disappointment was the panel surface itself. Right in the middle of the front cover, there’s a visible indention in the plastic. It’s not just a slight mark but it catches the light and makes it look warped. It throws off the clean finish I was going for, and even if I painted it, I don’t think it would disappear completely. In the end, I couldn’t use it for this particular spot, and the visual flaw made me hesitant to try it somewhere else. The concept is great, and I can see this working if your wall opening is completely unobstructed and you aren’t too picky about appearance. Just double check your framing before ordering. ... show more
