OKARA Silver Toning Shampoo gently cleanses and immediately neutralizes unwanted brassy, yellow tones from gray, white and platinum blonde hair. Natural Okara extracts and purple toning pigments help repair and reinforce the hair’s natural structure while giving an immediate anti-yellowing effect, and an acid pH (6.0) helps smooth cuticle scales. Gray and white hair is left with a pure color and radiant hue while platinum blonde hair shows cooler, bright tones.

    • One of the better purple shampoos
After I retired, I told my hair dresser I was going to stop coloring my hair. I have so much white hair that two weeks after I had it colored, I would have a stripe of white around my face. My hair dresser agreed that it was a good time to stop coloring and she gave me a crew cut. It took most of the remaining color off and at the next 6 week visit, she cut off the rest of the color. I absolutely loved it until I saw the yellowing of my hair from the sun. So, I started researching and ordering different purple shampoos. I tried one from a drugstore which turned my hair to straw. I then started ordering different shampoos from Amazon. I liked the Pantene shampoo for silver hair but didn't like the accompanying conditioner. Then I overdid it on the Pantene (blue hair) and didn't realize I needed to use a clarifying shampoo to get rid of that color. I tried several others with Regis being the last purple shampoo I used. Finally, I looked at the reviews of best shampoos for white hair and saw this. Yes, it is expensive! But, I wash my hair with the Rene Furterer shampoo, two days later, I wash with a mild, everyday shampoo and then two days later, I use the clarifying shampoo. You don't actually use that much of the expensive stuff but my hair looks great now. My hair does dry out with the clarifying shampoo but when I use this two days after, my hair gets soft and silky. I have had so many women comment and ask me about how I keep my hair so white (without any yellowing) and I tell them to use this brand. ... show more
