Quality product with great reviews. Alternator fit perfect with no operating issues. My only concern was the condition of the packaging box during shipping. Alternator was shipped in it's factory box instead of being placed inside an actial shipping box. The factory box was damaged to the point where someone had put shipping tape in an attempt to keep the alternator from breeching it's factory box. I was worried the the alternator would not work correctly due to how much damage the factory box has sustained during shipping. The wire harness tension plate was bent due to impact because the factory box padding was only packaging paper and was no longer wrapped around alternator for protection. I would have easily provide a 5 star review if alternator had arrived in better condition. I know Amazon has a great return policy, but the installation process of an alternator and possible removal of such if defective (Because of shipping damage), was always on my mind. Problem easily solved by placing the 13lbs factory boxed alternator inside a proper secondary shipping box instead of being lazy. Something to think about before ordering.

Looks identical and fit my 08 CRV with zero problems. You have to take the power steering off too so may want to replace that and/or the belt now if you intended on doing those eventually, while dealing with serious pain in the neck install. You have to have several different lengths of 10 & 12 inch sockets too because there is barely any room and sometimes the socket is too short, sometimes too long. I used several different combinations of tools to get all of this off. But it all worked as it's supposed to and I went from getting a 12.7v charge with the old one to a steady 14.4 on this one and my belt stopped slipping and smoking. Also if you think your power steering or ac is the one going out as I did....that wasn't the case. The alternator was causing the belt to bind up very slightly and started to smoke after driving a while. But the ac and power steering were both acting up because they didn't have the full belt power from the engine. The way I figured out it was definitely the alternator is I bought a little voltmeter phone charging port that I put in the power socket and watched that voltage go from like 12.7 -12.2, when it's supposed to be 14.4. But I paid like 9 bucks on amazon for that power socket that shows you the cars voltage. I'd pick one up. I would have been severely upset if I started by changing the ac compressor because it was making noises and not cooling right. But the alternator having too much resistance was causing it all. Now all systems are fine after changing this. It's just as sturdy and definitely as heavy as the other one.

I purchased a rebuilt one for twice the price to not have to wait on shipping and it's an easy swap well the rebuilt one was putting out 11 volts so I returned it and ordered this one. No core charge and 2 weeks later still putting out 14.8 volts.

Bought this to replace the broken one on my wife’s 2011 CRV. Has been working great so far for about a month. I’ll update this review if it stops working. Make sure you have the tools to get the serpentine belt off before you start, otherwise you’ll waste a ton of time trying to rig something up. The bottom two bolts on this alternator are also pretty tricky to reach, so go buy a long flex head ratchet if you don’t have one already. (Worth your time, trust me.)

Have been using this car with new alternator daily for over a month now. Works fine. Fits perfect. I watched a YouTube video on how to do it. It wasn't easy but it wasn't impossible and I was able to get it done. I had one killer bolt that I couldn't get out for a long time, but you know how much I saved doing it myself. Runs better than it has in years. It must have been discharging the battery for a long time. I also replace the starter at the same time. So happy to have figured out what the problem was. Honestly, it runs like new.

I was playing on house money with 230K on my 2005 Accord's odometer. A diode eventually went leaky so an alternator replace or rebuild was in order. After research, I chose this new Remy unit rather than a rebuilt one which are always a roll of the dice not matter the brand except for Denso. First things first, this is made in China not USA but for the price I wasn't expecting USA built. T he product description is outdated. It fits fine, spins and delivers 14.4V under load so no complaints so far as to functionality. Having said that, on inspection it looks a bit lower quality than the stock Denso alternator that Honda uses but a lot better than the random no name Chinese made alternators I've seen. For instance the back cover plate and boot cover flange are HDPE instead of nylon or phenolic in the originals. Bearings spin freely though without racing or a stiff feel. Packaging is not up to the rigors of being handled and shipped. It's more for brick and mortar shelf handling. The plastic flange for the output terminal rubber boot broke off during shipment and was loose in the box upon opening. I stuck it back in and it worked fine. Not really a big enough issue to warrant going through a return or anything. Just be aware. So far I think it's fantastic value for the money. Less than half the cost of a new Denso and quite a bit less than a rebuilt Denso and looks to be a much better idea than any of the mystery rebuilds or no name new alternators out there. Remy has more skin in the game and they've been around for a while as a company. Time will tell how the bearings and brushes hold up but I can get my original alternator rebuilt locally in the mean time. I'll update review after one year.

My 03 Honda Element's original DENSO alternator finally bit the dust at just over 200K! NOT BAD! I usually try to by DENSO but could not find one at an acceptable price. I took a chance on this REMY after much research and its great! well built and behaves like the factory original.
