so far so good. steady 14.4V, easy to install into my Lada Niva M 2014 1.7 and a great upgrade over stock 42A. 115000km's It just took 3 washers for the bottom bracket to get the pulley aligned, a washer under the pulley which came off of the original alternator and a steel angle iron for the upper tension-er bracket. I hope it will last, I will inform if it doesn't. 150000km's and it started behaving strange and didn't charge anymore. It could have to do with my failed dashboard which then probably didn't supply enough power anymore to the exciter? I have now connected the exciter (L) via 470 = Ohm 1 Watt resistor to KL15 IGN through a 1A fuse. The alternator charges flawless again. Before it was connected through the charge control lamp to (L). I would like to figure out which pin can be used for the charge curcuit indication lamp now? ... show more

Product does not hold up.. lasted 3 whole months before it failed. Loss of money would have been better off buying a different one. Do not buy unless you only need it to work a few weeks.

    • Low cost replacement but I am concerened with the quality control of the alternator
Low cost replacement but has a whine noise when vehicle is running at idle, which indicates alternator issues. Headlights and other electrical loads will get substantially brighter when accelerating or revving engine at idle. I think the alternator will need to be repaired soon, as I am an ASE and Michigan State certified automotive technician currently employed at a car dealership for more than 10 years ... show more
