Our family has sincerely enjoyed these Advent cards and also purchased them for our sister and her family. My daughter especially is enjoying serving and bringing joy to others and most importantly, reading a scripture together keeps it about Jesus. I was hoping for advent cards that walked through the story of Jesus’ birth with better engagement questions and explanations. Each card just had a verse and a call to action. I think these cards are better for older kids but definitely would not recommend for anyone with young kids.

    • They work... but
They work, but not exactly what I had hoped for. I wanted Bible verses (got that) with kindness/unselfish challenges for each day (not so much.) The challenges varied from making a pinecone birdfeeder to donating toys. First, I wanted ALL of the challenges to be focused on kindnesss/being unselfish/service NOT on crafts or decorating the house or baking cookies. Second, instead of saying donate toys to a specific organization, I want these cards to be more open ended and say donate to a charity in your area or to one of your choice around the world. Third, as mentioned in other reviews some of the verse references were wrong. Lastly, I felt kindness can start at home with helping them with chores or serving them so I would replace the crafty/cooking challenges with service to one's family. So yes this is an ok set if you are in a pinch and need to put something in your homemade advent calendar, but it needs improved. I may end up making my own. ... show more
