I needed storage shelves to support garden and construction tools in a covered, outdoor shelter, this fits our needs perfectly. The powder coat protection should stand up to the humidity in our area very nicely. I purchased plastic shelf liners separately to keep small tools and oil from falling through the wire shelves. I think this is a nice addition. The other item I purchased was water proof covers. These covers will encase the whole unit top to bottom with a zippered front for accessibility. I'm hoping it will keep small critters from using the shelves as nesting spaces.....we shall see. ... show more

This shelf is easy to assemble by one person and is sturdy. However, the wire mesh shelves do sag a bit, even with weights well below the stated maximum of 400 pounds per shelf. Also, the top surface has several pieces of reinforcing wire mesh that are a few millimeters above the overall shelf surface, which can cause items on the shelf to tilt or wobble. It seems that one or two reinforcing crossbars (similar to the horizontal side support frame) would eliminate the shelf sagging. ... show more

I needed some additional shelving in the garage but didn’t have the space for a 48 inch wide unit. This product had a reasonable price and was the right size. It came well packaged with no damage and all of the parts included. Directions were clear and assembly was easy and is a one person job. It’s nice they included a small hammer/mallet. But if you have a larger rubber mallet, assembly will be easier. I have some similar bigger storage shelves from years ago (Husky brand) but unfortunately these shelves are more flimsy using less material. The strength is reinforced through new engineering of both the vertical and horizontal supports. Does it work? Yes but it is regrettable that sturdiness is traded off to keep production costs down. As some others have said the connectors between the two halves of the shelves are plastic and are insufficient to carry the weight of the top section. To address this the middle shelf needs to be set up across the connection between the two halves. That should be sufficient to give the unit the right amount of carrying strength but it does limit shelf location flexibility. In my case it wasn’t a problem. Otherwise it is a good product at a reasonable price. If you will be putting smaller items on the shelves, the metal grates will need to have a rigid material covering the grate as the wire openings in the grate are large and small things will fall through. I would buy this again but I still miss the more robust products of the past. ... show more

I love these shelves. You can easily adjust the height of the shelves if you need to store taller items. These are not made for heavy equipment, but perfect for storage containers, and medium sized items. Building the shelves is loud! You won’t need any tools as everything is included. Even gloves!
