Color: RGB LED Backlit
I wanted a compact keyboard that still had arrow keys and this was the best option. Other ones were either 2x the price or had some weird layouts for the Shift and /? keys. Range is good, I'm using it from 6 ft away with the dongle plugged into a front USB on my PC tower. The case is plastic, the plate is metal. I'm not sure what kind of metal, I just know it's not pure aluminum because the plate is magnetic. Not a huge fan of the red switches as for me they are too easy to accidentally actuate, but I will replace them with some heavier 60g+ tactile switches. I can confirm that the pcb is hotswappable 3-pin, it has soldered sockets for the thin outemu pins. The lighting is fine, I don't really care for RGB anyway. The LEDs are north facing SMD. I'm using the lighting mode where the individual keys light up when pressed. You can turn the lights off completely, and the automatic LED patterns shut off after about 60 seconds of no input. The only sketchy thing is the battery life. The marketing material says 30-60 hours, but the user manual says up to 10 hours. Update after a month: the battery life is pretty good, I used it for 1-2 hours gaming per day for 3+ weeks and the battery had not died yet at the time. I replaced the switches, some of the switches were a little difficult to remove, either because the tabs on the lower housing breaks or it's really snug in the PCB socket. Also, the stabilizers had a lot of rattle because the clip-on housings are not very snug on the plate. Lubing the stab stem and bar helps, but the best method to reduce rattle was to add one or two layers of tape under the stab housing where they clip onto the plate so that the housings can't wobble anymore. Alternatively, you could purchase replacement plate-mount stabs. ... show more

  • Full RGB backlit, mech TKL metal base keyboard for <$70? Hell, yeah!
Color: RGB LED Backlit
UPD: The listing has changed since I made the purchase. My review is for the RGB version of this keyboard, item currently sold under this listing seems to be a plain red backlight version. I still enjoy my keyboard and it works perfectly. /UPD I love, no, LOVE this keyboard. * Small (TKL is the way to go, how often do you use the numbers block, really?) * Solid build quality. Metal base adds perfect look and ensures your keyboard won't slide by adding some weight as well. * Rubber pads on all 4 corners. AND on the extended legs. * Perfect click sound and feel. I'm not too picky on this regard but the cherry mx keyboards I've tried before are of a comparable feel and quality, even though this keyboard sports some "custom switches", in my case looks like outemu blues but I'm not 100% sure. * Fully customizeable and actually nice looking RGB backlight. It has built in memory for your programmed configuration and some cute looking presets that I think I actually will use without fear of having a christmas tree in front of me. Most built-in presets that have some sort of movement have configurable speed so that you can slow it down to a comfortable level. I enjoy setting it to full rotation through the colors and slowest speed so that the change is imperceptible if you look at the keyboard but if you glance at it every once in a while it will be different color each time :) * Standard changeable keycaps. Don't like black caps or the font on the supplied ones? Buy any other caps you like. * Did I mention the satisfying click? * For under $70 this is likely the best mechanical keyboard with so many features. There are even cheaper chinese knock-offs but none come close in terms of feature set and many reviews are mentioning quality issues (as expected). The only con I had is that it didn't work on Windows 10 out of the box, which I'm guessing is on windows, not on redragon. They don't even advertise win 10 support, however it works perfectly on 10 if you do the following: (I found this solution by googling for it in about 10 seconds, this was in amazon review of a similar redragon keyboard, authored by Engr. Jay Mendoza) WINDOWS 10 SOLUTION ▶ If you are using Windows 10, it may require a bit more work. This is what you have to do: 1. Open Device Manager. (Press Windows Key, type "Device Manager", press Enter) 2. Look for to "Universal Serial Bus controllers", and expand it (click the '>' button). 3. Look for "ND-tech USB adapter" created by the keyboard. (If there are more than one, reinsert they keyboard to see which one.) 4. Right-click on that and choose "Update Driver software" 5. Choose and click "Browse my computer for driver software." 6. Choose and click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer." 7. Choose "USB composite device" and click Next and proceed from there. 8. You should see two entries under Keyboards called "HID Keyboard Device". 9. Congratulations. Enjoy your new keyboard. Thanks to "Skyhawk0123" for pointing this solution (which was from "Sebastian J." on Amazon UK). ... show more

  • Great until keys stopped working
Color: RGB LED Backlit
This keyboard was great. It uses USB-C as a connection which is solid and then you can also connect using the included adapter. It was used almost exclusively with it plugged in so that there would be no delay while playing FPS games. It worked great for about 2-weeks of everyday use. 2-weeks into using it there started to be a delay on some of the keys where they would have to be pressed twice to function. This seemed to be an intermitent problem, but then a couple days ago it was consistent. They keys that no longer function properly are A, D, W, and L. Now they have to be pressed multiple times to receive a response. Perhaps I got a faulty keyboard, but I don't know if I'm willing to try it again. ... show more
