This alternator arrived on time and was relatively easy to swap out for the old one in my Ford Econoline van.Everything works great and I saved around $75 from the local parts store in my area(I could wait a couple of days no problem there,unlike other items that I need today).This is a new part instead of a rebuild and it looks new also.After running it a few days I tested the output and it read 14.30 volts(I have multiple batteries in my service van)and everything works well and even seems to be running better(probably more voltage to the coils in my Super Duty V-10 engine?) We'll see in the long run if it lasts,but so far so good!The only problem I had in the repair was the serpentine belt install(because the old belt broke from the old alternator pulley being seized up),eventually I had to have a mechanic install the new belt after me trying to install the belt after 4 hours and plenty of frustration because there is very little room to work in the engine compartment of the V-10 Econoline!(its confusing because I installed a new belt and belt adjustment pulley on a 4.6 litre Lincoln Town Car with no problem in about 30 minutes!!)Anyway after a tow job to the shop and a replacement Mass Air Flow sensor replacement(another problem that happened(stalling and rough running) during the install-the van is 17 years old)everything runs well and I went back to work.I guess it was a live and learn lesson in vehicle repairs-but it worked out well!!Hope this helps!Also to add-I bought the serpentine belt here at Amazon and it worked well and the price turned out to be about 1/2 of what the parts store wanted.That belt did take a couple of days longer to arrive,but it all worked out well in the end!This is a 130 Amp alternator for the Super Duty applications.Like I said earlier I could rearrange my work schedule to wait a couple of days for everything to arrive(I used prime 2 day shipping-I'm sure anyone could use next day shipping for the extra fee?)Again hope this helps!! ... show more

I got a great deal on this alternator for 35 bucks unfortunately it didn't fit my 2006 Ford F-150 but after doing some research it will fit a newer Ford, I'm going to hang on to it for the future, really nice alternator as far as I can tell brand new well made

Put the alternator on and tested. It showed bad at the battery. contacted DB and they shipped a new one. Later the next day checked the alternator fuse. It was fine, but what I found was someone before me had not tightened the fuse and it did not make good contact. Tightened it up and bingo, it worked great.     • The whining noise is real, but no big deal
A flickering alternator light led to a replacement search and finding this unit. Install was pretty trivial on an F-150, fit was indistinguishable from the original. I do notice the new sound added to the mix as others have mentioned, but just barely. It's unlikely to be the bearing, that much noise from every new unit would make for a ton of warranty replacements. The company is not going to ship something and then spend 10x the time shipping out replacements – not at this price, anyway. The part has a one year warranty on it, I doubt there will be any problems. ... show more

    • Perfect fit, works great
This fit my 1998 F150 perfectly, and was easy to install. The only, non issue, issue I'll say about it, is that the Alternator has something of a whine to it when the engine is running. At first this worried me that maybe something was wrong with it, but months later still working perfectly. Still has the whine but i've gotten used to it. ... show more

99 4x4 f150 188,000 miles. My Alternator went out and I found this one brand new for half what rebuilt alternators in my area cost. Installation was easy fit perfectly. Factory alternator was rated at 135 amps this one tested output is closer to 150. My truck had been a little sluggish for a while especially under a load. I thought it was because of the high mileage, After installation of this alternator My truck actually started running better! My Alpine stereo system with two amps doesn't clip anymore when I turn it up past 28. Very pleased and price makes it a steal! ... show more

when I read the first and only negative review on this alternator,I am thinking that may be I give them a try and see how it work because I am a mechanic so I can do it myself,if it is bad I can pull it out and send it back to them to get another one because it come with one year warranty anyway.So I order one and install into my 1999 Ford F150 V8 4.6L.After that ,I check it,it is working good ,the voltage at charge is 14.36 V. I keep checking the voltage after one week and two week,it does same thing.So it is working so far ,because the price is low, new part ( not refurbish ), fast and free shipping, so I am a happy customer ... show more
