  • Great keyboards!
Color: Brown Switch
So, I originally purchased 2 Corsair K70 keyboards a couple years back for 2 different computers. I wanted top of the line mechanical boards with customizable backlighting for my recording studio business, and I was ok paying the higher cost for a high end product. They needed 2 cables to interface to the computer, and the Corsair Icue software was kinda ridiculously confusing to use, despite recent revisions to it. It did let you set up different per-key lighting schemes for different programs, and it would automatically switch to those schemes when you opened each program, which was cool, but not hugely useful to me for the way I used it. Overall it was frustrating as hell to use, and with each software update my old settings seemed to disappear and I’d have to re-setup everything again. Then I’d basically have to re-learn the software each time I took an update because I didn’t use it often enough to remember how to navigate it efficiently. So ultimately, I was constantly having to screw around trying to make it work for me. Then, one keyboard stopped working at all. Anyway, long story short, I threw them away out of disgust and frustration and replaced them with these. (Even then, purging the stupid software from my system got confusing and took some time, as it was affecting the lighting in the new boards in a weird way). Boom!! Better backlighting, more legible keycaps, great tactile feel, easily replaceable keys (they even come with spares), and so much less money than the previous boards that I can replace them three times over for the same money the other ones cost. Per-key lighting can be easily set up without using external software, and tweaked on the fly in 5 seconds. I actually bought 2 different models of these, the bigger one has volume control and transport and programmable macro buttons, and works just as well and easily as the smaller, less-featured model. If you’re looking for an illuminated board, I think these are a great value and punch way above their cost in quality and usability. ... show more

  • Affordable and great keyboard. Switching from a membrane to this feels amazing.
Color: Blue Switch
As someone who has used membrane keyboards all my life typing on this keyboard feels so effortless. I got the blue switches and this tactile feel and clicky sound is everything. My typing has improved in both speed and accuracy. Never liked silent keyboards as I need to hear the typing. My previous keyboard was a Logitech Wave and I literally had to slam down on the keys to type. With this keyboard my fingers just need to gently tap the keys for them to register. The macro keys are an amazing addition and I've used them to record my passwords which saves me time. The media keys have a nice feel to them and the volume/ light scroll button has that nice tactile feel and raises / lowers the volume / LEDs in perfect increments. The lighting is bright and the font, although very gamery, looks nice IMO. The software though needs improvement as there does not seem to be an option to control the side RGBs with it. Not a deal breaker by any means at all though. It also comes with 8 spare switches so you’re good to go if any of them fail. One thing to note though there is a slight ping sound when you type but that seems to be a common feature of pre-built mechanical keyboards. It's caused by the springs and the aluminium plating of the keyboard. It does not bother me though as I usually wear headphones when I am at my PC. This is also prevalent in the bigger more expensive brand names I've read as well so not really a fault with the keyboard. If I had to pick one issue it would be the feet at the back. They feel a bit flimsy but they do their job well. I’d highly suggest this keyboard to anyone wanting to get into mechanical keyboards as this has actually motivated to type more. ... show more

  • FANTASTIC!! Super Linux Friendly, too!
Color: Blue Switch
WOW! You're telling me this thing is $63?! That is a STEAL. Looking for a nice mechanical RGB keyboard? This is the one. Corsair is great, but most of the time they're all expensive since they're the Mercedes of computer parts. Yes those keyboards are great, but when I say this is just as good, I'm not kidding. First of all, the keyboard has everything on-board. You can get software on Windows for it, but you don't need it unless you want to change the colors of certain effects, because you can change all the effects, record macros, and a lot of other options without any software installed. This is great for people who use Linux (like me) because most of the RGB keyboards out there need software installed to have the effects work. Usually on Linux you need unofficial software to get keyboard effects to work with RGB lighting, but this keyboard does everything itself, no official or third-party software required. Now for the keyboard itself. First of all, the effects are crazy cool. There's so many different options and you can change them on the fly with a couple key combinations. Secondly, the keys respond so well, and feel fantastic. THEY'RE SUPER LOUD IF YOU GET THE BLUE SWITCHES, SO KEEP THAT IN MIND. I LOVE that it's loud, Blue is my favorite mechanical key type. If you don't want your keyboard to be loud, then get the optical brown switch one. It's just a little more expensive, but it'll save you from having loud keys without compromising the feeling and responsiveness of the keys while you type/game. Last but not least, the peripherals work super well, Linux or Windows. Media keys are flawless, and the volume control works really well and feels nice to use. Even if money isn't an issue, this keyboard is still a fantastic value. I'm already in love. If something happens like the keys act funny, I will update this review, but I highly doubt that'll happen. The other reviews aren't kidding, this keyboard is literally probably the best value available. If I get another keyboard or any of my friends need one, this will be the product I recommend. Thank you, Redragon for making an affordable, incredible keyboard. ... show more
