My hair was FRIED after an incompetent hairstylist left a processing agent on way too long. My hair is naturally super soft, not coarse at all. After it was fried, it was very coarse and just looked terrible, super unhealthy. The new hairdresser said there's nothing to do but let my hair grow out and cut off the fried portion. Then one day, she told me to try Olaplex. So I did the whole regiment. For a year. And there was improvement. But only slightly. Then I watched a hairdresser on YouTube, not affiliated with Redken, recommend the Redken Acidic Bonding Treatment. So I read some reviews of it, watched some other review videos, and figured what do I have to lose? HOLY SMOKES, BATMAN, THIS STUFF IS AMAZING! My hair is soft again! It looks healthy again! After a month of use (probably 6 treatments), my hair is almost back to normal! It's not 100%, but it's close. I feel like I can leave my hair down again. I don't have to keep it in updos anymore. I've only been using the pre-wash Bonding Treatment and the after wash Leave-In (same YouTube stylist that recommended this product said shampoo/conditioner aren't going to help with the bonding, to use any shampoo/conditioner you like, so I've been using my normal). I'm not sure why this treatment needs to be applied to wet hair BEFORE shampooing, I used it like any other brand treatment, after shampooing. This product is awesome. I have never dyed my hair or do heat styling very often, however I was struggling with breakage, frizz, dullness, and dryness with my hair (I will blame CA water for it). I have been using this product for a couple months 1x a week to now only when needed. My hair has improved, gotten stronger and does not fall out as much. The instructions are simple and easy to follow. Just don’t go out in the sun for a week using this product, it will damage your hair.

I love this product and what it does to help my hair! I use it with the entire acidic bonding system (shampoo, conditioner, leave in). But the smell is TERRIBLE! It smells like some cheap dollar store knock off. I absolutely hate the smell. I was hoping it would make my hair smell like I just came from a salon. I've been a loyal olaplex user for the last two years. Loved the way it strengthened my hair, but it simply didn't provide enough moisture for my hair-- even after incorporating olaplex 8 into my regimen. After using the Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate (ABC) the first time (with the shampoo and conditioner), my hair was stronger, color more vibrant, so much easier to style and I've gotten so many compliments! Made my hair soft but I feel I cant use every day. It felt heavy and weighted my hair down if used daily. I have very fine thin hair and it really made my hair look worse. It's a good product but heavy at least for my hair imo. This is why I gave it only 4 stars.
