I was recommended this product as I have not used heat protection before when blow drying my fine hair since my hairdresser has not recommended it. This is a game changer because my hair is much less frizzy after blow-drying and feels healthier. The thing to know when using this product is that less is more; you only need about a pea-sized amount for this product. Otherwise, it will be too much and weigh your hair down, especially if you have fine hair like me. You may need slightly more for thicker hair, but only a little. This product is a must as it protects your hair from heat, regardless of hair type. Although this product is just for blow drying, using an iron will need a heat protectant spray. Overall this product is excellent, and I highly recommend it!

It does the trick! I like the mild pine scent. The texture is nice and it helps my hairstyles stick and hopefully is protecting my hair :). It’s pricey for the amount you get, but I knew that going in :).

This product has a weird smell like maybe it is old?? Can’t find an expiration date on it. Usually like this product but definitely doesn’t smell right.

I had been using the original "Redken Velvet Gelatine 07" (3.4 fl oz in black tube) and loved it because of the wonderful scent (received many compliments) and how it had tamed my wavy sometimes frizzy hair. Unfortunately, this item is no longer being sold. Due to the reviews, I thought I would give this "Redken Big Blowout" product a try. I agree with the other reviewers that this new version is the closest to the original. However, considering its price, I wish that this version is like the original (would have rated the scent a 5 star) -- there's something missing but I can't quite put my finger on it. Also, this version seems to be a bit sticky and does not last long when applied as the original. Redken, please bring the "Velvet Gelatine 07" back.
