  • Probably temporary but priced right; an excellent, simple solution!
Color: White Size: 36" W x 72" H
Breaking out to just over $4 per shade (bought as a pack of 6), you really can't go wrong. The shades are extremely easy to install and immediately solve light filtering needs. I was skeptical of the sticking power and used a little rubbing alcohol as an extra cleaning step on the window frame prior to installing; the shade stuck quickly and seems to be securely in place, even after adjusting it up and down a few times. The clips are super noticeable and cheap-looking, and I prefer three across the 36" shade width (I'll look for something more inconspicuous to hold them up). These are truly paper - thin, easily bent/dented, and would certainly not hold up to any moisture or much contact. These shades are 5 stars in my book based on the price point and simplicity of the solution. I do not expect them to last forever and would probably look for a longer-term solution if I planned to have shades in place forever, but they are a fantastic way to meet shorter-term needs. ... show more

  • Quick and easy solution
Color: White Size: 36" W x 72" H
They look great and make the room feel more open with shaded natural light. The only issue is the adhesive doesn’t work sometimes so I used command strips to keep them in place but they are easy to cut with a box cutter and super easy to install. Plus you don’t have to drill anything or hammer any nails or find a stud. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Cheap But Effective TEMPORARY Blinds
First and foremost, if you're thinking that you're going to use these as a permanent (or even long-term temporary) window treatment, I would caution against that from the outset. These are not going to last. While they are not "low quality" for what they are, they are quite literally made out of paper. Nothing but folded paper with an adhesive strip on one end. They will eventually tear or wrinkle and become useless. Having said that, they should work well enough for what I need them for. I just moved into a brand new house and it did not include window treatments. After recovering from the initial cardiac arrest induced by the price of plantation shutters, I realized I would need *something* to cover my windows for the next six weeks until my shutters were made, delivered and installed. So for $29 I have been able to cover the windows in my front bedroom and master bedroom (dual windows) and guest room and office (single windows). That's six total, at 3' wide (which is slightly wider than the single window openings I have). My house backs onto a wetland so luckily my privacy really is not compromised by leaving my dining room windows and sliding doors uncovered for the next few weeks, and I get a great view of the wildlife at dawn and dusk! Another hint, although yes it is going to cost you a tiny hole in your brand new walls, is to hammer in a thumb tack at each top edge! After reading all the reviews about the adhesive giving way and them falling down in the night, I decided to stop that before it could ever happen. Just use a little care because you're hammering it into the wooden window frame and not just into drywall and you have a setup that is guaranteed NOT to fall down. Because I am not laboring under the utter delusion that these are somehow permanent window treatments, I have given these 4 stars because they do what they are supposed to do, and they do it for a decent price! ... show more

  • Must be my window sills
Color: White Size: 48" W x 72" H
I have a brand new house. Had it built 6 months ago. Ordered these as a cheap way to get blinds in my house until I can afford some fancier ones. Got these suckers out, cut them to size just how I wanted them, and boom. Hung them all up. Went to sleep.... Woke up in the middle of the night to my English Bulldog barking his nuts off. Growling, barking, snorting, slobbering, etc. This also got my German Shepherd/Malamute mixed dog freaking out also. So I was certain I either had someone trying to break into my new house, or somehow I let my new house already get possessed. Either way, I sprung outta bed and ran out to my living room with just a gun and my underwear. Took me but 2 seconds to realize why they freaked out. All of the blinds had fallen to the ground. Every single one of them. And I wasn't about to go shooting some paper blinds. So I was frustrated and left them there and went back to sleep. The following morning I stuck them all back up. I used a lot of force the first time around when sticking them up. This time I made sure to apply an EXTRA amount of force. 45 minutes later, they all came down, like exactly 2 minutes apart from each other. These blinds are literally just paper. You use clips to hold them up. When you clip them, the edges of the blinds fan downwards where as the location of the clips holds them up. So it looks weird. Also wherever you clip them, will definitely wrinkle the blinds. Meaning you won't want to lower them later. They look fine. You can thumb tack them to your window sill if you want to. Just don't plan on adjusting them too often if you actually want to go this route. But as for me I threw them away. And just to clarify, I washed the top of my window sill just to be sure I got all of the dust out. I let them dry before I hung up my blinds. It's just too much weight for the adhesive. Oh well. You live and you learn. ... show more

  • LOVE these Shades! SIMPLE to install ~ LOOKS Awesome!
Color: White Size: 36" W x 72" H
I was VERY leery of these shades because I have never purchased a "Paper Shade" in my life, and wasn't sure that paper would be strong enough. After reading reviews I decided to give them a try. I ordered 3M Scotch Heavy Duty Mounting Tape, 1-Inch by 50-Inch with the shades because I wanted to be sure they stuck. I was able to cut them down to the ODD sizes I needed. My dining room has 4 windows - 2 in the center are considerably larger then the ones on each side of the 2 bigger ones. I was able to cut one shade in half and use those 2 pieces in each side window, and I was able to cut off about 4 inches of 2 more to fit the center windows. These were simple to install. Measure your window, cut with either sharp scissors or an Exacto knife.Pull off the strip covering the sticky strip <I did that and then added the 3M Double Sided Tape>, then simply put them up. These curtains, all 6 of them, come with clips that you put on the bottom of the shade to pull up and down the shade, without touching the paper. It took me an hour to put all 4 shades up, and I'm 100% Disabled so I don't usually do this stuff. But I was excited to see them up and didn't want to wait for my husband to come home from work to do it. I am actually pretty impressed with these shades. They look Amazing! You'd never know they are paper unless you get right up to them and feel them. They are definitely a high quality paper. I had these ugly, ugly plastic mini blinds that I paid a fortune for since they were such odd sizes, and these Paper Shades look like I spent even more! They aren't light "Blocking", but they do filter it. I have more light now then I did with the plastic mini blinds. It's a really nice "glow" light. I like that there's no string/handles, they're cordless. They provide complete privacy <nobody can see in or out> while not blocking out the light. What I like best though is No. 1 - the price is perfect! Where can you get 6 shades for under $40??? And No.2 - I can do this myself! And quickly! AND with no help from anyone. And for someone like myself who has to count on someone to help with almost everything - that's pretty awesome to me! Definitely give these a try! ... show more

  • Nice look, but adhesive is not strong enough to keep shades in place.
Color: White Size: 36" W x 72" H
The cost is very affordable for covering six windows. The shades are effective in keeping the sun from heating up our sun room. The look is nice and clean. I easily cut these down to a 30” width by folding them flat to fit on a paper cutter, which gave a professional, clean cut. My disappointment was that the adhesive did not keep the shades in place, they started falling off within a couple of hours. I used little pieces of white duck tape on the ends to keep the shades from falling off…time will tell if it does the job. ... show more

  • Great paper shades for privacy that can be used temporarily or more permanently in your windows!
Color: White Size: 36" W x 72" H
Perfect temporary blinds that are so easy to put up. The shade is light and thin, but not see through at all. One easy cut needed to fit the width of your window and adhesive tape on the top makes it very easy to attach to the top of the window frame. I highly recommend these shades for temporary or more permanent use on any window in your home that you want to be able to have some privacy but still get light through. The price was great and you get 6 shades and a lot of extra clips to use when you want to keep your shades open. ... show more

  • Classy look for a few dollars
Color: White Size: 36" W x 72" H
EDIT and UPDATE! I was wrong - -these DO come with clips. There are 6 sets of 2 clips. The reason I did not know is because the clips are packaged at one end of the long box that holds the shades. They could not be seen from the other end of the box. I decided to try opening the other end of the box, too, and there were the clips! The clips are the perfect design for this purpose. So.. if you think your shades did not come with clips, try opening the box from the other end and see if they are hidden in there. Mine were! // I bought these shades to cover a large picture window. They let light in, but people cannot see in. So far, the tape strip on the shades is holding them up just fine. At first, the shades seemed too short, but they stretch out as they hang in place for a few hours. I hung three shades in a row and for the fourth one, I had to trim a few inches off the width. I did this using a scissors and a razor knife. The scissors I was using was too dull. The razor knife worked just fine -- I put the shade on a counter with a thick brown paper bag underneath it. It worked fine. Someone suggested using a paper cutter -- and that seems like it would be ideal. // Before I began, I cleaned the window frame with bleach spray and a paper towel. The shades easily stuck onto the wood and are still up. If one of them falls, I will use other adhesive. // Overall, these look FANTASTIC and not at all like they cost $20. These look classy and have a decorator look. I used only 4, so that means I have two of them left for replacements when needed or for other windows. // Putting these up was so easy! I expected it to be a semi-big project, but it was very easy and done in minutes. And it looks great from inside and from outside. ... show more
