I put this out because I live next to a preserve (the woods), and we get all manner of creatures in the yard. The big problem however has been the deer. I have bird feeders up, and they come up and nudge the feeder causing the seed to drop out in their mouths. I put four of these out, two at "deer" level, and two down lower for the other critters that show up sometimes (they are digging in the yard looking for food). I then filled up the feeders and went away on a trip for a week. When I got back, the feeder normally attacked by the deer was still full, so it looks like it kept them away, but ALL the feeders were still full! It appears it worked SO WELL, it kept the BIRDS away also! WOW! I assumed this was caused by it acting like a cat looking scarecrow. To test this, the next morning I just went out and covered the "cat heads" with clothes early in the morning (when they normally feed). Sure enough, in less than 10 minutes, the birds started showing up to feed. I left them covered up until around 1:30 pm (they don't feed usually in the middle of the day due to the heat). Once I uncovered them, no more birds, and it stayed like that until 5:00 pm, when I once again (to test it) covered them up. Well, in about another 10 minutes, here come the birds again to feed. A test doesn't get much better than this!

Our cats are indoors most of the time, however, they love to lay on the front porch and lawn in the evening. We have coyotes in the area, and while I haven’t seen one on my street, they travel in our development. The Solar Nocturnal Lights were suggested by several friends who live on the paths the coyotes travel. They were very easy to install and I positioned them in several different areas. Even on cloudy days, they reliably light up and can be detected from a distance. Each device ( I bought a 5 pack) is very well made, work despite exposure to rain/sprinklers, and are easy to to obscure in landscaping. I happy to have made this purchase. My husband is less anxious about our sweet kitties lounging and I’m relying on the concept to deter predators. For the reasonable price, it’s worth the effort ( low as it may be) and comforting to have a deterrent to possible threats. Thank you! Update: it’s been several months and still very happy with the product.

This product was easy to install and works great - or at least I think it does! I haven't seen or smelled any skunks since I installed them around the shed. I have two 7-month old labs and I can't even imagine having to deal with the getting skunked! We have only 1 dog prior to getting 2 - and both are previous dogs were skunked and it cost over $500 to have our house after one of them ran into our house rubbing herself on our couch and on our rugs!! I have been searching for something that works and these really do! So Adios Skunks!! I am one happy customer!!

This item looks well made is is rather nice looking "little cat''. The red lights are noticeably bright and can be seen from across my yard which is approximately 70-80ft. The solar panel seems to be charging well. Installation on my wrought iron fence required a drill driver and metal screws in order for the predator eyes to lay flat against the fence posts. However the rabbits are still running rampant, and I am unsure if this has work to ward off the larger raccoons, possums, bobcats, coyote etc. I am installing vinyl coated metal screens next, so I think I may keep these predator eyes just as an added precaution. This would be a costly precaution so I can't recommend this item. Update: 1 of the 4 stopped working about 3 weeks after and then a 2nd one became inconsistent after 4 weeks. I'd contacted Amazon and since replacements were not possible, a refund was issued. Amazon works great but this product did not. UPDATE: turns out that light in the red spectrum does NOT deter animals because red light is the least bothersome to animals according to scientists…and hunters.

Jury is still out, I will say. I planted 105 emerald and Thuja arborvitae trees around my property. This being the first seasoned winter I noticed I was getting bite marks on various parts of the trees. I can’t attest that it had stopped but with the last 3-4 weeks of snow. I haven’t seen 1 hoof mark in my yard or property within the snow, let alone anymore chew marks. I do know I have a herd of 5-8 deer that frequent my woods out back. So maybe starting to deter. I think I need more to be safe. I only wish is having a motion sensor so my neighbors don’t assume I am monitoring their property lol. Update COMPLETELY USELESS. destroyed all of my Emerald greens. You should refund my money, or at least send me like 4 more sets to test if having a absurd amount of them will work at all.!

These are easy to install. Open the box, turn them on, and zip tie to a fence. I'm using them to deter coyotes in southern California. So far they have been successful, several weeks in service.

The day before I received these the deer got to some of our young corn that was about 8 inches tall. I put them up the next day and the deer came back the next night but, these kept them away. My husband and I were surprised that they came just before dark and that it kept them out of our garden! We will be purchasing more for our other garden next year. We are also looking forward to moving them lower soon to keep the raccoons out of the corn. They are a very good purchase as the deer tried for a few nights trying to come into our garden but, stayed quite a ways away!
