I bought it to strengthen some thin earbud headphone cables that had lost some of their rubber coating exposing the wire at the base of the earbud. It took a few tries to use the tape correctly and get it tight. The tape sticks to itself the best, and mostly works, but on some cables I used some fabric glue on it after getting it wrapped to make sure that the tape would not peel up . I'm sure you could find many uses for this tape, but if you work with electronics and electrical wiring a lot this tape will elevate your workmanship to astounding heights. Never again will I use vinyl electrical tape. There is no scenario where vinyl tape is better than this. This is an item that truly alters you entire way of doing things for the better. Not often such item comes around but when it does, if you know you know. I previously bought cheaper brand of this on AliExpress and while still good, I highly recommend paying more for name brand quality stuff like this. Everything about it is so much more quality. Doesn’t adhere all that well but it’s nice to have for basic looming. If you are covering up exposed conductors though I probably wouldn’t use this one.

    • tired of sticky residue from plastic electician's tape that comes apart and shrinks

This wire loom cloth tape is vastly superior to sticky electrician's tape which tends to come apart and leave a mess of sticky black residue. I would recommend it for any exposed car wiring and even for wrapping ends of bicycle bar tape.

    • Eliminated the buzz in my car!

I used this tape to line the edges of the sunglasses holder in my later model Rav4, which eliminated an annoying buzz. My previous Toyota had a cloth/felt lining around the outside of the sunglasses holder, but Toyota must have saved a few pennies per unit with later model Rav4s by omitting the 8" of material. So in the Rav4 I had a near constant rattle that would only go away when I was wearing the sunglasses. It seems when the sunglasses are either full left or full right in the case, the glasses would vibrate against the side of the holder causing an annoying buzz. It was driving me mad. I used two pieces of this cloth tape to line both sides of the sunglasses holder, overlapping in the center. I am delighted to report that the buzz is gone. I am a happy buzz killer! ... show more
