I installed a new head-unit in in my Chevy HHR. Turns our my little buggy fell into the years GM started sending the the car's signals through the radio/speaker system. This interface works perfectly and it is easy to install. There are reviews that talk about the "new" chime and signal sounds being awful. Sure, they will take a little getting used too, kind of like moving from a manual to a well made (not the cheesy kind) digital door bell, but saying they are awful is a stretch.     • Works great after changing wire order in plugs.
So this smart harness was not supposed to work on my 2015 Chevy Express cargo van, but by moving a few of the pins around to get wires in the right order, it works just fine. I now can have my after market radio. This harness provides a switched wire, gives me the ability to use backup camera, I have the door chime and turn signal clicking sound. Generic sounding but works. It also allows the radio to stay on with key off till you open drivers door. You need to have a bit of knowledge with wiring to change plug wire order. ... show more

    • Harness doesn't fit well in a 2008 Chevy Cobalt
I installed this in an 08 chevy Colbalt. The stock harness is extremely hard to get into the Metra harness. I pushed as hard as I could and I to finally get it clicked in. Once I got it clicked in the radio had no power. I moved the wire a tiny bit and the power came on, moved again power went off. I disconned it checked all the pins to make sure nothing was bent or wrong with them. Took out my test light tested the stock harness for power and wiggled the wire a bunch, power the whole time. I plugged in the stock radio and wiggled it a bunch, still had power the whole time. I plug the Metra harness back in, same thing if I barely move the wire I will get power if I let go no power. So I cut the power on both harness's and clumped them together so I would have power. When I finally had power and could listen to the speakers, the exact same problem happened with the speakers. I called Metra, they told me it was a bad harness. So I bought another one. Hooked it up and the exact same thing. The pins must not fit in the stock harness tightly, which is a huge problem. I have installed many in dash stereos and DVD/Nav receivers. I know what im doing and this product did not work well at all. ... show more

Save your money on the overpriced computer things, installed many sound systems in my vehicles and even bypassed those before, this is just plug and play, chimes take a lil getting used to as i didnt have em before but perfect fit on my 2009 malibu.
