    • Not for Dometic
"Domestic" appears to be a corruption of "Dometic" which is a major brand; "domestic" appears in Google only in Red Hound's listings. This will NOT fit the necessary pin in a Dometic awning, which is 3/8" diameter. The spring-loaded clasp must be ground down to accommodate the pin. Best thing about it is that since it's pot metal it's easy to grind. ... show more

The old style bracket for Dometic awnings can't be found anywhere. It took about an hour and a half each and the bigger Dremel cutoff wheels and I was able to make these for the older Dometic awnings. These brackets are pretty solid and they fit the existing mounting holes almost perfectly. Very happy with this purchase over having to buy a whole new awning. ... show more

    • Does not Fit a Dometic 8500 Awning
This product feels and looks heavy duty, seems to be a quality product. However, even though it comes up in a search for Dometic 8500 awning products, it doesn't open enough to fit the post.

    • Does not fit my A&E awning arm.
Good solid bracket but had the same experience as several other reviewers - the bracket does not open far enough for my A & E awning. It took me about 40 minutes using a Dremel to grind down the catch far enough for it to fit. The bracket does hold the awning arm pin just fine once it clears the catch which would suggest that a slight alteration in design would make this unit more universal. ... show more
