Thinner, much stiffer, same fiber content supposedly, but feels almost like heavy string when you're working with it. Not a nice yarn, very inflexible. I admit that was skeptical that this yarn, when knitted up, would be soft enough for a wheelchair blanket. However, when washed and dried on delicate cycles, the blanket softened up beautifully. The blanket, size 36” by 45,” used approximately 1 3/4 skeins, made with size 10.5 needles. The teal colorway is very attractive. This yarn has a very nice, soft feel to it. I like the color variation. It would have been perfect except I am seeing some white, undyed areas. These are very small but when dealing with a yarn that doesn’t have white in it, the spot stands out. So far not too bad where I would consider returning. Product is very good. The color change is a bit longer in between than I would like, but It works great in round and other forms of crochet. The product is standard when it comes to texture, given that it is acrylic yarn, and for an ombre yarn, it is a good price. I would recommend using a 6.5 mm hook rather than a 5.5 mm hook like the balls advertise though. Makes the yarn last a bit longer and does not change the look too much. ... show more

love this color way! it is a little more scratchy but that’s to be expects with acrylic. i love how much you receive in just one skein, it works up well and it’s the cheapest bang for your buck. it drapes very nicely after steam blocking as well.
