The lightweight, whipped consistency is incredible to work with—it goes on smoothly with a putty knife and fills holes in a single application without shrinking, sagging, or cracking as it dries. I’ve had occasion to use a lot of these lightweight spackles for filling holes and imperfections in walls and painting prep. This type of product is made by several manufacturers. But I think the Red Devil brand is the best. It just seems to spread and feel better, and it sands without crumbling like some of the other ones do. The product was incredibly dry, almost to a foam consistency, to where it just fell out of the container when I opened the lid. I had to keep adding water to make it usable, would probably purchase a different product and brand next time

I am not a handy person at all, and before buying this, I had literally never patched a hole in a wall in my life. I was honestly surprised by how easy this was to use. You simply open the container, apply the spackle to the hole, smooth it out as much as possible, let it dry, sand it down, and you’re basically done. The entire process was much easier than I expected, even for a complete beginner. The spackle was easy to work with and made small wall repairs feel completely manageable. I also think the price is very affordable, especially if you only need it for occasional little repairs around the house. It is definitely something I would keep on hand for nail holes, small dents, or other minor patches. The only thing to keep in mind is that this container is very small. It is only half a pint, so depending on the size of the repair, I would say you may only get about two average-size holes out of it. If you have several repairs or anything larger, you will probably want to purchase a bigger size. Other than that, I was really happy with how simple and beginner-friendly it was, and I definitely recommend it for small wall repairs. ... show more
