An extraordinarily great beginner/practice guitar! I liked the first one so much, I bought a second one! I have far more expensive guitars, but these are great for everyday practice. I can put the wear and tear on these two and save the more expensive ones for performances. I've been playing for over 40 years and I wish I had one of these (at this price point!) as one of my first guitars. In my opinion, these are closer to a very decent $300 electric guitar.     • In the Final Analysis It Sounds Good - Some Nitpicks and Thoughts Below

I ordered this guitar at around $99. It was a steal for that price. Between now and then - about a week or so - it went up 40%. Now it's in direct competition with other Chinese-made guitars with similar reviews. I think it's still worth it, but I'm not expert enough to say how much it really differs from the competition. I'm also not expert enough to know if it needs some expert tuning - i.e., adjustments - from a professional to make it better. It seems other self-proclaimed experts in the reviews thought that was the case. I think it's finished well. It looks like it went through comprehensive QC checks. Again, I'm not an expert, but the third tuning peg felt a little funky to me, so we'll see how well it holds over time. The spray-on "sunburst finish" is really not impressive, but looks OK from a distance. I didn't expect the real thing, but this is barely an attempt. Not a deal breaker, but don't get your hopes up in that respect. They might have misjudged the market a bit, in that this doesn't come with a gig bag, strap, cable, or even a pick. There are some guitars in this range that come with all of the extras and some even throw in a tuner. As this is supposed to be a beginner guitar, it seems like that would be the way to go. They could distinguish themselves by providing relatively higher quality extras, but these are just suggestions to the company...As far as performance goes, I don't have too many complaints. It could have been a little easier to tune, but it sounds pretty good for what it is. I hooked it up to a little amp and was surprised at the quality I heard. That and the good QC make this a buy for me - and has me thinking about taking it to a shop to really get it dialed in. Sratocaster HT HSS: Decided to give guitar another shot after 30 years. Read lots of reviews for beginner guitars and this one had the most favorable comments for out of the box setup in this price range. Heard some fret buzzing and took it to a repair shop to have it looked at before the return window closed. Guitar tech said there was nothing wrong with it and I was likely just strumming too hard. He actually said the was the setup was really good straight from the factory and just added a little more relief to the neck for my "heavy hand". The sound and action is great compared to beginner guitars I had in the past and stays in tune pretty well. I wish it had a glossy finish, but learning is more important than looks for now. ... show more

I suppose this is rare for guitars of this range, but upon opening and testing the guitar out, very little set up is required. Of course you'll likely need to change strings, and (per your preference) the action. That said, the tone is great, and pickups are good. A little muddy in terms of tone, but for the price, this is a good guitar ... show more

Purchased for my daughter as a starter guitar. We are unqualified to render an opinion about the quality of the guitar as a musical instrument. Looks to be well made. Fit and finish appears decent. Sounds fine to my untrained ear. Seems like a great value for a name brand guitar. Recommended.

Just came today. I'm blown away. I love the color. It's a quality guitar. I'm a gigging guitar player, I wouldn't call this a beginner guitar. Sounds good and it's the best setup guitar straight out of the box I've ever gotten and I have over 70 guitars and bought quite a few from Amazon.
