  • The adhesive strip would not come off.
Size: 3 - Pack
I'm not impressed. I couldn't get the adhesive strip to come off of the back. The caulk was so stuck to it it would not peel off. In the videos I've watched it shows the backing peeling off easy. I ended up getting caulking all over my hands when I tried to peel it off.

  • Bad for shower, probably OK for tub
Size: 1-5/8" x 11'
Attempted to install this to cover a somewhat large gap between a shower wall\basin. The adhesive this uses seems fairly weak, and I have a hard time believing it would hold up long term. Do yourself a favor and caulk this the proper way.

  • Great stuff.....so far
Size: 1-5/8" x 11'
In the basement bathroom, I removed old damaged carpet, then had the floor ceramic tiled and the old wood baseboards replaced with vinyl ones. The reason was for easier cleanup and less damage when we occasionally flood. The workers did such a lousy job adhering the vinyl baseboard. There were numerous small gaps between the floor and the vinyl. I used this to caulk strip the entire vinyl baseboard to the floor. I followed the instruction to the letter, including using alcohol to pre-clean the area. The stuff really adheres very well. Very solid. Now, the floor looks water tight. Certainly able to withstand a couple inches of sewer water, without too much damage and mold buildup. Also, I used to caulk the bathtub. It's sealed tight and looks great, too. This strip works well to reinforce surround tubs, too. The nice thing about the strip, the center is bendable. This makes it easy to push the caulk strip securely into the sharp edges, where the wall and tub meet. It lies flush to whatever is being caulked. No mess, cleanup or fumes. It certainly looks more solid than regular caulk. It's relatively expensive. I had to get 7 rolls to do the floor, but if this holds down the mold and mildew, it's worth it. I will update on longevity. Tips: -Area need to be completely, clean, dry and free of moisture, including the moisture from alcohol pre treatment. - Pressing very hard after application is key. The entire area stripped needs a good hard press. I used a dry cloth for good traction, and ran my hand over every area of the newly applied strip. - Only untape about 6 inches of caulk at one tme....just continually untape protective paper backing while actually applying. Remove excess old caulk before starting. That old caulk holds a lot of moisture. Fellow reviewers suggested heating caulk stip with a hot blow dryer and completely sealing bottom half of strip, before sealing the top half. I also used regular waterproof caulk to seal and reinforce all egdes of the strip that I cut..... in corners of tub, at the front edge, etc. Directions recommend not using tub for 8 hours after applying....I waited 24 hours before using the tub. Lastly, I think you'll have better success with this wider width. I read the reviews for the 7/8" variety of this product, and most were negative. ... show more

  • Lifesaver. Glad I knew I might need a backup for the silicone caulk
Size: 1-5/8" x 11'
I love this stuff. Worked much better for me than silicone caulk and I ended up with a professional job (slightly different from instructions) after sealing the edges using a q-tip to dipped into my exploded, and otherwise worthless, canister of silicone caulk. You will need a little bit of silicone caulk, but don't bother with a caulk gun. Instead get one of those little tubes of silicone caulk that have the little nozzle. Use that to seal all of the edges (definitely needed for tile because of the grooves) around the caulk and in the corners where the strips meet. If you follow the instructions, it tells you to overlap with a tab of the caulking for the corners. It will look much more professional and be easier to clean if you use an exacto knife of box cutters to cut, or mitre the ends for the corners and then seal the gaps with the silicone. Make sure the of the sides of the tub are wide enough (where they curve down) to accommodate the strip, or you should probably trim it prior to putting it into place. Basically, make sure it's on the flat part...don't try to mold it to the curves of the tub. This was VERY EASY and it is the easiest to clean caulk job I've ever seen. No nasty caulk to rip up when you clean. It's more of a plastic feel than standard caulk. If you have nasties in your water, as I do, this makes cleaning very easy with a sponge. I haven't seen the same kind of water problem buildup on it at all, really. The only thing that could be a deal breaker for some is that it sort of has the look of one of those "safety tubs"...something I didn't really notice in the pictures, but you can see what I mean. ... show more

  • Works great for me!
Size: 1-5/8" x 11'
I put this on two years ago along a straight 90 degree angle at the bottom edge of my tub where it meets the floor. I cleaned the area, measured careful and cut before unpeeling. I used a tiny tiny bit of calk at the corner to make the ends "pretty". It still looks fantastic. Couple of tips for applying. Warm it but don't heat it or stretch it. Making it warm does make it easier to work with, HOWEVER, you must be careful to make sure you don't stretch it as you place it. If it is stretched then it will come unstuck as it tries to shrink to it's original length or size. Clean the area and make sure it's dry. Measure, measure, measure. Test the length before pulling the sticky off. Push the inside corner in tight as you go. Press down and make sure it sticks as you place it. Try not to pull it up repeatedly. Caulk the ends with a minimal amount of caulking. Enjoy. So far no cons for me although I haven't tried to do any curves. I'm sorry to see others have had problems. I love this stuff. I've used it along my AC unit in my window, along a shelf above my microwave so things don't drop behind it and in my bathroom. ... show more
