Features

  • Premium pure copper 14-Gauge speaker wire with 245 fine strands per conductor. Compared to copper-clad-aluminum wire, pure copper wire has 30% lower resistance, better flexibility, and greater durability.
  • Each cable is terminated using gold-plated 4mm banana plugs on both ends. The all-metal banana plugs are purpose-made for high current and low loss applications with a solid core and 9 contoured contact springs.
  • Ultra-slim connector design eliminates needless bulk for a clean and uncluttered installation. The connector holds firmly once fully inserted and has no exposed metal parts, reducing the chance of accidental shorts.
  • Hand-assembled using soldered joints and heat shrink tubing. This construction method results in the best possible audio signal transfer and is also exceptionally durable, ensuring many years of reliable performance.
  • Dual-layer jacket design with a firm inner jacket for wire stability and a supple outer jacket for excellent protection against abrasion while maintaining flexibility. Red polarity stripe together with color-coded connectors helps prevent connection mistakes.

  • Two meters in length, not 6 ft - easy to remove packaging kink.
Size: 6ft (2M)
These should be specified as 2 meters, which is 6 inches greater than 6 feet, and the extra length was useful in my application. One reviewer found that the kink in the middle of the cables caused by the packaging method to be a minor annoyance. Solution: Hair dryer, high setting, 2 minutes, gentle massage, no kink. ... show more

  • Good value, with the right system...
Size: 12ft (4M)
I needed to replace an aging pair of DIY speaker cables, and bought these after seeing Steve Huff's video. It would be hard to build something comparable at such a low price, so I figured, why not? They offer good bass control, and on some tracks there is nice air and sparkle up top, but on others that sparkle turned into sibilance. They ended up not working for me because of the sibilance, but I would still recommend them if your system is a little too rolled off up top. In my case, I'll keep searching for the right cable at the right price. Might just build my own again. ... show more

  • Great Speaker Cables For The Money
Size: 12ft (4M)
I purchased these Micca speaker cables on the recommendation of Steve Huff, an on-line audio equipment reviewer (also check out his Youtube channel). Steve said these particular Micca cables were the "best he had heard for under $1,000.00" (not a typo). So for $45 bucks I thought I'd give them a try. Currently, I am using a pair of 2004 edition B&W 705 Bookshelf speakers, powered by a mid 1970s era Yamaha CA-1000 integrated amplifier (which has a "Class A" mode as well as Class A/B). Bass is augmented with a 10" Paradigm powered sub. It sounds pretty decent. I am an "audio enthusiast," but not an audiophile (if I can get 80-90% of the performance for half the price of something "better," I'm happy with that). These Micca cables are well constructed and attractive. And having 245 strands of wire, they are VERY flexible even though they are double jacketed/insulated (the flexibility of a wet noodle comes to mind). One Amazon reviewer noted that his cables arrived with a sharp kink in each due to the way they were wound up in the package. Yep, mine had the kink(s) too. However, I was easily able to get the kink(s) out by using a hair dryer (set on High), putting a bit of tension on the cable(s), and passing the dryer over the kinked areas (about 3"-4" in length in the middle of the cable) for a minute or so to make the cable relax and straighten out. Easy fix. No harm, no foul (but the manufacturer should take steps to eliminate this issue). I have always been skeptical that ultra-high priced speaker cables (which I personally consider to be ~$200 a pair, and over) are worth the money. Perhaps they do improve a $20,000 + system, but I don't have that (and don't intend to). The speaker cables I had been using were commonly available 14 gauge Oxygen-Free Copper wire purchased on 100 ft. spools for around $40-50 bucks, and I wasn't convinced the Micca cables would make any discernable difference in the sound. Well, the difference is subtle, but it's audible. Vocals seem to be a tad more "open," the sound stage appears to be a bit wider as well as having more depth, and the treble is slightly smoother. Was that worth $45 bucks? Well, my test has always been "would I buy this product again" (essentially, is it worth the money)? Regarding these Micca speaker cables, my answer is Yes. Highly recommended for the money. _______ A couple of notes (OK, maybe 3): 1) I noticed Amazon has awarded me their "Vine Voice" badge. I appreciate that. But I just wanted to note that I purchased these speaker cables at the full advertised price and get nothing for the review. It was just my honest opinion. 2) If your speakers have screw terminals rather than banana plug inputs, rather than cutting the banana plugs off on one end, I'd recommend purchasing a set of 4 banana-to-spade adapters. You might need the banana plugs for speakers you purchase at a later date (link below). https://www.amazon.com/Hi-end-Adapter-Speaker-Connector-Wy-yp01/dp/B00X9FET7I/ref=sr_1_15?crid=2RUWQ068FHBOT&keywords=banana+to+spade+adapter&qid=1675494175&sprefix=banana+to+spa%2Caps%2C87&sr=8-15 3) I wish Micca offered their speaker wire on spools so we could make our own custom lengths, if needed. ... show more

  • It really is great
Size: 12ft (4M)
This pair of cables is indeed great great great as that famous YouTube vid suggested! I decided to give a try since it is budget friendly and it did add a better 3D effect and more clarity to my speakers. As some customers realized, it tames higher frequencies resulting in a darker sound. that is the only thing I would change. I was using kabelirect ones and they were much brighter sounding but lacked what these add to the sound. Brilliant cables! ... show more

  • Perfect!
Size: 6ft (2M)
The banana plugs fit perfectly into my amp (Canbridge)and speakers (KEF). The cables are unshielded (shielding in not necessary in modern systems). Braided shielding adds resistance and can lower the quality of the sound. They are also very flexible (again because of the lack of shielding) - yet another plus. I ordered the 6 ft. Micca cables to replace a pair of 12 ft. 'house brand' cables when I moved my system and did not require the extra 6 ft. (Both are comparable in price.) The issues I had with the 'house brand' cables were banana plugs that were too long for my amp and speakers - they kept popping out because of thickness, weight and limited flexibility of the cables. Both issues were solved by the Micca cables with no perceptible loss of sound quality. I ordered a second pair for my 3.0 Home Theater system (Amp = NAD and Speakers = PSB Alpha). Perfect fit again! ... show more

  • Exceptional Value
Size: 12ft (4M)
These are well made speaker cables that are likely to have no audible sound differences on systems under $10,000 (and probably more). If you have an audio system that costs more, then you will likely want to step-up to a fancier cable costing 10-20x more than the Micca. Will you be able to pick out distinct audible differences? Probably not, unless you're a/b testing to listen for differences and that would be applicable to almost any type of component changes. Will a fancier cable make you feel special? maybe. At 14 gauge, these are relatively thin and flexible cables without any extra shielding or unnecessarily thick sleeving. The matte red/dark red cable color is not offensive and should blend well into most systems. The main thing is that the banana plug ends are clearly marked with red and black heatshrink to help easily identify pos/neg terminal connections. Overall a very easy cable to recommend for simple, affordable, no frills speaker connection. ... show more
