Description
With this water heat, no need to wait for your water to heat up. You also don't need to worry about running out of hot water. This is a tankless system. It is heated with propane. It has a steady stream of water running through it to heat it up. If your flames happens to get snuffed out while you are using your water heat, you don't need to worry about propane filling up your RV. This flame out protection will turn off the unit if the flame gets snuffed out. If you are in the middle of your shower or doing the dishes and you happen to run out of water, the water heat will shut off. This both, protects you from using up all of your propane and protects your water heat its self. If you like using your RV in the fall or spring. No need to worry about the frost. This water heater is fitted with frost protection. If the temperature of the water is 43°F or less, it will automatically heat the water in order to warm up. *The tankless water heater is NOT designed to prevent your pipes from freezing in low-temperature conditions.* *Insulation and heat tape are needed to utilize water heater in freezing conditions.* This tankless water heater has a few other features built into it. My picture is horrible, because I was hot, sweaty, bleeding from several areas, and had uttered more curse words to fill up an entire case of swear jars. Oh and of course my blood sugar was low and I was 'hangry.' But that's what happens when you do big projects on your RV. You can see the old leaky water heater dumped on the ground, and the new one in place, ready to be plumbed. A few modifications, and it was a nice swap. Now how to deal with the fact that it is about an inch too small all the way around? I could modify the exterior of my RV, but no, I figured out a way to mount the new heater, and still use the same door from the old heater. I got lucky; most RVs probably won't be this easy. That's on you. As for how it works: Quite well. I've been playing around with it for about 2 months. You can set it and forget it. Your water will stay the same temp. It likes steady flow; if you mess with it here and there, it will turn off and on, and you'll have to wait a minute or so until it levels out. That's no big deal. The remote does have a few weird things going on, but I find the less I mess with things I don't understand, the better they work. I guarantee you that 90% of the bad reviews on this water heater are because of customer stupidity...

Easy install, fits perfectly, I set the temp to 111 degrees and with low flow and high flow shower head, I can flow the sink and shower and never run out of hot water, just pay attention because it's and RV not your home, set the temperature so you only use hot water, don't try and and mix cold water, it will turn the burner off, we are 100% happy with this. Now with an outside shower tent we can take two showers at a time and no hot water issues. Love it. Why did you pick this product vs others?: Reviews and price

The water heater beats the old 6 gallon tank hands down. That being said it gets wonky on temperature after about 7 minutes- the normal time you get with a six gallon tank. It hasn't shut down or anything, it just changes from real hot to warm randomly after a about 7 minutes. The installation instructions are absolutely useless!!! You have to ground one lead for the remote to make it work fyi. Doesn't seem to matter which wire goes to which or which you ground- would be nice to know! Tank fits perfectly in the suburban opening in the trailer, depth is much less than the old tank so you will need more pipe to hook it up. Gas line doesn't have an o ring in it its the dust cap for Shipping, and mine had water in the lines already. All complaints aside it's way better then the actual tank model heaters

I bought this unit a few weeks ago and it came perfectly packaged with the the cover. Installed it toadt as we are going to use it this coming weekend. The unit fit perfect in place of the the old 6 gallon Suburban with pilot ignition. The only issue for me was having to run to the Orange box store to get a Temp/Pressure valve and figure where to put it and what parts to make it happen. Maybe they could add these parts to the list of "parts not included* when describing the unit. Aside from having to run the low voltage and change some plumbing it was easy to install as I am experiencd these tasks. I would not recommend trying to install this unit yourself if you do not have experience with plumbing because you do have to install a T/P valve and it you will be making several trips to the box store for parts you didn't know you needed. Also they say you need to install a mixing valve Wich would have been nice to know before hand but I installed my unit without one and I'm going to see if it works with out it. Anyway,it's installed and initial tests show it works great. I will update this review in about a wéek and give a solid review.

Straightforward and easy to install. It took me about 2.5 hours to remove the old one and install this one. Most of the time was spent removing the old one and modifying the opening. This is 1/2 inch bigger both sides than the opening in a Shadow Cruiser with a Suburban 6 gallon. To get the Suburban out, I had to remove the circuit board sticky taped to the top of it and pulling it out of the opening busted off half of the styrofoam insulation. Plus, the Suburban has wires running everywhere, I had to find the straight 12V pos and neutral (red and green, I just abandoned the blue wire.) I turned the 110V circuit into a wall outlet. The Fogatti is laid out perfect, the connections are easy to make. Unfortunately, I had to remove the screws holding the back panel (2 sides) just to get it through the opening, even after grinding off excess fiberglass and aluminum framing to make the opening bigger. I metal taped the sides of the back panel where the screws are removed, it is just as solid as having the screws in. Plenty of wire is included with the remote, unless you are mounting it in the bathroom, which I do not understand. I put mine by the power center and set it at 123 degrees and will probably never mess with again. A slight issue that I was already aware of; the heater takes a couple of seconds to turn cold water into hot water. When you close the kitchen faucet and then open it again, you have to wait to get hot water, maybe 7-10 seconds. I have to admit, it was nice with the tank heater having hot water uninterrupted within seconds. But, believe me, I can deal with it. First time I ran a hot shower without cutting off the water to soap up. No more Navy submarine BS. Luxuriated in that wonderful endless stream of water. Be sure to get a thermostatic mixing valve, I'm not sure what happens when this is starved of cold water (kitchen faucet opened while you are in the shower.) I bought this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09QPCMN7P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 and it has been great (looks good too.) Plus, no more gas being used to keep water warm in the tank. And the outside cover of it looks a lot better, more subtle and stronger looking. And, a $120 discount from when I was pricing these during RV season. I'm a satisfied customer. Edit 12/17/23 - I got ten days of enjoyment from using this product. When I say enjoyment, unrestricted, full flowing hot water under all conditions. On the eleventh day, it started flaming out, right in the middle of a shower. Since then it has gone to 1) severely restricting the flow of water, 2) flaming out almost immediately, under any and all conditions. There is some stupid code built into the circuit board that will not let it simply heat the water. It is chasing ghosts. Going down the rabbit holes. During the ten days it worked perfectly, none of the ambient conditions have changed since then 1) propane pressure is the same or stronger (replaced with full tank, tried a heating blanket for the tank -failed.) 2) the water pressure hasn't changed (my faucets will rip out cold water.) 3) temperature of the incoming water (today it actually got warm outside, it was still the worst shower I ever had in my life.) I've tried every temperature set point, I've tried every faucet setting, I have a shower protocol now; turn it on full hot water set at 103 degrees, wait for it to flame out, usually 30 seconds. Stop the flow, restart the flow, wait for the next flame out. Usually 2 minutes. Stop the flow, restart the flow, enter shower, before it was giving me uninterrupted flow but not today. It kept flaming out. I contacted the seller of the item, they blew me off (contact Amazon with warranty issues, check the wires on the gas valve.) Hey, that's great, thanks for your concerns, it's not a big deal not being able to take a lukewarm shower. Thanks for all your help. But, check it out, this thing is coming back to you, and I don't want another one. You don't care and neither do I.

I love it!! I bought and installed this unit about a month ago to replace the original water heater in my 12 year old Park Model trailer. I did the installation myself and it was simple for anyone who's experienced with home repairs. The new one is identical to the one it replaced except it is a generation or two newer than the old one and is far better engineered than the old one. The old one had a number of usability issues, primarily attaining and maintaining a constant output water temperature despite changes of water flow rates through it or incoming water temperature. It was not made to change the flame size to compensate for changes in water flow rate through it or incoming water temperature changes other than by using a switch, located in the hallway, to manually change the flame size to either high or low. I've learned over the years how to deal with those shortcoming and a couple of others as well. However, this new unit automatically changes the flame size to compensate for those changes plus it also comes with a wired remote to set the desired output water temperature, which the water heater will maintain within a wide range of changing conditions.

We replaced the 6 gallon 2 way tank water heater that originally came in our travel trailer with this unit. After having it installed for a couple weeks, we have a list of both pros and cons. Pros: -Direct fit replacement for the Dometic/Atwood 6 gallon tank style heater. I didn’t have to make a fillet panel or anything for the outside of the trailer. -Does a great job at providing continuous hot water and maintaining the set temperature (there are a couple caveats to this in the cons) -Built in freeze protection works very well -Pretty quiet inside the trailer. You can definitely tell it’s on, but it’s less noisy than I thought it would be. -Pretty straightforward installation. Including the run to Lowe’s (more on that in cons) it only took me 2.5 to 3 hours to swap. I used the power from the LP gas switch on my control panel to supply 12v, so I have an additional kill switch to the one behind the access door. Cons: - Outside, it sounds a bit like a hairdryer on full blast. Thankfully our neighbors in our current campground are far enough away that it doesn’t bother them. - Doesn’t come with a T&P relief valve. Between the valve itself, and the tee and nipples to attach it to the outlet side, that ran me another 60 bucks at Lowe’s. RecPro, please start including this in the box. I’d rather pay another 15-20 upfront to have it included. -This unit is very finicky with the water flow and maintaining temp. The sinks are low flow enough that the heater can keep up with one at a time. However, the shower valve being fully open or both sinks being used is too much water flow, and the temperature may barely break 90 regardless of setting. Also, turning on the cold water too may cause a pressure drop enough to kick the heater off altogether. For this reason, we set the desired temperature on the controller and only open the shower hot valve a maximum of 3/4ths.

I purchased the tankless water heater for my 32ft travel trailer. I like to set the temp at 104*F and just turn on the hot water in the shower with the Oxygenics shower head and it feels great, even better than the showers in my house. I have been using it frequently for the past 3 years and I can say it is flawless. I run off grid often and I can get almost 120 showers on a standard 20lb bottle . And I use a solar panel system to charge and monitor my 12v power. With the water heater on standby it uses just under 0.200 watts and during a hot shower it uses 340.0 watts of power. So far it's been the best upgrade to my KC Sportsman . I love it.
