I was quite surprised by the quality and features of this little night vision monocular. I really didn't expect much from it because of it's sub $50 listed price range but gave it a try and am happy I did. Just don't expect a rugged $1000 machine and you'll be happy too. I did take and upload a few cell phone pictures of the eye piece screen while in use, so you could see why I was impressed. The color image is actually using the unit at nighttime, in the city suburbs of course, so there is ambient light, but regardless, I did not expect such a bright color image during the night. It's very cool to have a color image option when in the darkness, in my opinion. The other images are using the infrared feature, set to level 1, because on higher levels it does become a bit washed out. I believe it wouldn't have done so if I was in the wilderness, without moonlight or the street light glow I get here at home. I wanted to show the same image at 10× zoom, which is digital zoom, but I don't think it's too blocky like I figured digital zoom would be. The slight blurring is because the shakiness got exaggerated at such a high zoom level and also I was holding the monocular with one hand with my phone with the other, but it's still pretty great. It's especially impressive for it's low and budget friendly price. It does recordings too, and it came with a 32gb card pre-installed, so it's ready-for-action right out of the box, which gave me more smiles. The only complaint I have is that it came with a wimpy drawstring bag, which provides zero protection from bumps and jarring, and I really think it needs a padded case. Other than that, it's a need toy or even a gift for anyone that likes to look for owls or even for trying to see the docks at night when sailing into a new port. I recommend it and thanks so very much!

It's cool tech to try out, but the panel is so small and there's no way to connect it to an external display.
