Not a bad lantern for camping, but not the best speaker. Multiple lighting options are offered as well as no light at all and only using this as a speaker. A USB charging cord is included, and there is a little red light on the back which indicates if the lantern has finished charging. A very small metal handle is attached on the bottom to allow this to be hung up, but no lanyard or hanging cord is included. It's lightweight with good battery life. You can light the inside of a tent, or use for background music outside around a campfire. If you can't make a campfire, just set the light on the flame mode and use one of those sleep apps that has various sounds like rain, wind, etc., and set it on the 'crackling fire' sound. It's not the same as a real campfire, but it does in a pinch! The Bluetooth speaker was very easy to pair. Not only can you stream music, podcasts, audiobooks, and so on, but you can take calls on this speaker as well. Control buttons are on the front bottom of the lantern, as well as the button to let you change between Bluetooth, auxiliary, and TF modes. I like that you can take your own micro-SD card filled with music or whatnot and play it on this speaker without needing to connect with Bluetooth. The speaker is located on the top of the lantern, so sound only comes out through the top and is quite one directional. Speaker quality isn't horrible. You can't adjust any of the levels for tone or base or anything. What you hear is what you get. The controls let you perform the basics like fast forward or rewind, and that's it. To change the lantern light from flickering flame to solid color, just tap the black screen portion of the speaker on top of the light. Between taps it will cycle through various colors like red, blue, green, purple, etc., then go to a slow fade or a fast fade, then to white. A long tap (put your finger on top and hold for a couple of seconds) will shift the light back to the flame setting. A long tap will also adjust the brightness of the light when it's on the colored or white light settings. You can turn the light off by pressing the button on the front bottom of the speaker, or by switching the slide switch on the back. I get why the price is what it is ($30). It's a Bluetooth speaker that is supremely portable with multiple light functions that can also take phone calls, run off battery power, is rechargeable, can connect with auxiliary, or use a SD card to play music. This is an affordable option that allows you to have a speaker (and light) in places where you wouldn't want to take a much more expensive wireless Bluetooth speaker. A great option for kids as well since it provides them with some cool options for a nightlight, a 'fire' for indoor camping, and a decent wireless speaker that if damaged or broken isn't a major financial loss. ... show more

This is a lightweight, potentially portable bluetooth speaker and light that can be used in several different ways. It comes with a metal handle that can be used for carrying, hanging up, or hanging off the back of a backpack. (no hanging cord included). Light options can be switched by tapping the top of the speaker to flickers like a candle/fire, cycle through LED colors, or pick has no light. Volume and song controls are also on the front of the speaker. It does come with a USB charger (short) Pairing was easy. It has what I found as an odd functionality: the ability to take a call (not what I typically want to do when out in nature). It has an auxiliary connection as an option as well if not wanting to use bluetooth as well as a microSD slot where music could be loaded and played (so no need for bluetooth at all). Sound quality is meh. Not terrible for a $30 speaker with a lamp, but definitely nothing that will awe your listeners. The speaker is located at the very top of the lantern and so sound is very unidirectional. We used it in the tent as well as in our outdoor gazebo for some additional ambience and light. There are a lot of things to like about this Bluetooth speaker. First, for its cost, it offers a clear, unmuddy sound. While it is not made to crank up, it can offer enough volume to take care of a group around a small camp. It charges easily and connects easily, too, and it can also connect through an AUX line; it also plays files off a micro SD. It also has a light that can sort of emulate a kerosene lantern's flicker. However, for a speaker marketed for outside use, it is vulnerable. There is no cover for the various jacks (one would expect some kind of protective cover). Although the bottom of the speaker has a metal loop so the speaker can be hung upside down, the speaker grill itself has no protection. Lacking this water and dust protection, the speaker looks as if it is ready for the rugged outdoors, but it will need to be scooped up and sheltered. In sum, if you're looking for a good-sounding, adaptable speaker that has many functions for input (principally Bluetooth), then for its price, this would be a good choice (I have tried many Bluetooth speakers in the $30 range, and this lacks the tinny, flat sound of most of them). However, if you're looking for a rugged speaker that can withstand the outdoors with its dust, dirt, and water, then you should look elsewhere. Camo is to resilience as fire stickers are to speed.
