I have been working on putting together a wilderness survival bag for a bit, and I took a chance on this pack due to its budget friendly price point, and I am sure glad I did! I had been looking at bags for a bit, and ended up in REI a while ago with a friend and was shocked at what they wanted for a basic hiking pack. This bag is seriously well built and thought out, and is roomy enough for even the most bulky of items. The ability to carry two fishing poles is just the icing on the cake. There's tons of places to clip items onto and a wide range of adjustability that will suit many body types well. The ippers don't seem cheap, the carabiner style clips and other plastics are aggressively strong, as is the webbing and main straps. There's even a chafing panel on the bottom of the pack so it'll hold up to repeatedly being placed on the ground. Again, it's one hell of a pack for the price, and I'm glad I shopped around first and made this purchase.

I bought it when it was on sale and it is by over the expectation! I thought it is just cross body back, but there is a zipper that makes it to the backpack. I was planning to take it for fishing, but also decided to take it to my international travel! Love the bag!

I like that you could use the pack on front or back of you has lots of storage space. I used it for fishing like you supposed to. I would buy it again if I lost or gave one to a fellow fisherman

I'm a paramedic and use this bag to carry my personal gear and small needs such as shears, stethoscope, phone chargers, etc. to work. Have been using this daily for 5 years now and it is still in great shape, has been the longest used bag I've had for this purpose. I know this is advertised as a bag for fishing gear, which I'm sure it's great for as well, but this is just a great all round bag for whatever your might need. Great price and holds enough stuff, without being so large it just accumulates unwanted and forgotten junk.

I use this travel pack for freshwater stream fishing where you just need to carry the essentials and most often used items and leave the tackle box in the truck. It's lightweight and the straps secure it to your body for easy mobility. This replaces the chest rig I used since I could not see the ground in front of me when traversing down rocky slopes/streams. Just carry your most often used items (leave the kitchen sink in the truck bed) and there will be enough room for snacks and drinks.
