The Marlowe arrived in great condition. You must follow the instructions very carefully to avoid taking some of it apart because you put part together before other parts needed to be done. You will also need 2 phillips screw drivers--#2 and #1. The allen wrench that I got is too large a size for almost all of the connecting screws. You will need a size smaller or hopefully the smaller size is included. I have a quarter inch socket driver with a set of allen wrenches that can be used with it. Also, mounting the firebox to the frame of the stand is a real problem. You only have about 3-4 inches on the side between the box and the wood enclosure. You will need a phillips screwdriver that is at least 8 inches long to reach the mount. I pre-drilled a small hole so I could get the screws started. Be careful about how deep you drill to avoid going all the way through. It would also help if the driver is magnetized because the screw must stay on the phillips screw driver or it will fall off. If not magnetized, put a little vaseline on the driver to hold the screw so you can get it to the screw hole. It took a number of hours to complete the install. Now that I know what to do and some small tricks, it can be done in a shorter time. ... show more

Amazing display, just what I was looking for. Nice and heavy, looks beautiful. Instructions have no words making things a tad confusing, but managed to get it together although I had to take a few pieces apart and reassemble.

This tv stand is very nice and well constructed. Yeah it is press board and not real wood but its thick and heavy duty. Putting together took about 2 hours. That's with real tools and power drill. If you use what tools the stand comes with to put it together you will end up with instant arthritis and complete lose of function for a week. The flame in the fire place is very realistic and puts out a nice amount of heat too. Biggest thing I'd watch out for is heat build up in 2 end cabinets. I have my router, wifi modem, xbox , cable box and apple tv box in them and with the doors closed it builds up a ton of heat.. there is no good ventilation. I was recording temps of over 90 degrees. I ended up installing a ac infinity brand entertainment center cooling fan system in the back and that keeps the temps down. ... show more
