Eventually, if we live long enough, we will encounter physical defecits.For example, we may find it difficult if not impossible to bend down to the floor to retreive fallen items. Or, to reach high to get and place towels, jars, lightwieght plates and much more onto shelves. I like these grabbers so much that I keep one inthe kitchen area and another in the center of the house. I use them every day for picking up fallen items such as papers, jar lids, botttle caps, pencils, pens, and so forth. Stretching is good exercise but not when you are suffering pain. I even keep one in my truck to use at the supermarket for getting product down off high shelves. A word of caution! Be very careful when gasping heavy objects and fragile objects. Better to ask for help than to end up with a broken jellly jar on the floor.

My mother has these. She is suffering from multiple symptoms and can't walk. However she is still strong enough to use these devices and squeeze it to close on items. However, she just yells at me to pick stuff up for her. I can also use them easily. The hardest part was taking off the plastic around it. Putting them together is super easy. They fit into place once the plastic wrap is off.
